Chris Justice has come up with a pretty good name for the 1 color patches. He calls them "Hole 30" because of the Moreno dirty jersey Panini video. It shows a lady laying out a graph on the jersey to count out the swatches they can cut out and hole 30 was in the middle of a number patch, hence the term "Hole 30". Makes sense.

They should buy another jersey or make one less card to get a one color garbage patch on a card # /15 is crap im steaming about this like i told the lady on phone you guys knew it was a good card b/c its only redemptiopn i ever got i had to sign for.. Oh well guess Im going start spreading my money around a little more.. I think of my last 100 boxes of cards 95 were Panini.. they didnt care at all ..and they wont care if i dont buy as much of their product as someone else will.. i just feel shafted.. was expecting a great card after seeing others in the set and get this crap
if anyone cares its on ebay maybe it will surprise me and ill buy a dez contenders auto for my pc instead

At least it's still prime though, by that I mean its part of a patch. Saw a sealed Score box set at Target the other day (the ones that come with two jersey cards, one prime) that had a "prime" card with absolutely NO patch material at all, just white jersey. None hiding in the corners, nothing. I shoulda taken a photo of it.

Not to mention whats the print run on that? Auto'd or not? I know Panini has a ton of "event worn" jerseys but you can't expect EVERY prime card to be a 2-3 color piece. Just like you can't expect all of your hits in a given box to be Tebow, Bradford, and Suh. It's ALL a gamble. And at the end of the day, it's still "Prime."

It sucks, but that seems to be the deal. Anything that is "sewn" onto the jersey counts as a prime, which means there will be one-color swatches since the numbers and some stripes on the jerseys are wider than the average "window" for the patches on the cards. It's a loophole the card companies can get away with.

1.
if every patch was muti colored than the demand for multi would be less

2.
if every patch was 2 color then people would be conplain why not 3 or 4

3.
some teams only have 2 colors on their jerseys

Lol amen to that.

And if you want to see a true joke of the use of the work "prime", look no further then Panini's hockey products. Where a two color piece of JERSEY is considered prime. No stitching, nothing. Just a piece of jersey died two colors.

A few NFL teams have that too. Like the stripes on the Bears' jerseys sleeves are not "sewn" on they're just painted a different color but you see those patches all the time.

Is there an unrwritten rule that Prime must consist of 2+ colors?

Don't think so, to ME, Prime should be anything not "jersey". So numbers/names/shoulder patches, etc. One color "prime" pieces are going to be common.

That is what I was thinking. So the white Dez piece in question is from his numbering, his name, or the white line on his shoulder. I can't believe how demanding some collectors can be. Glad I will never be that way. :)

The painted stuff on NFL jerseys is tricky. Like I have a few Bengals Prime pieces that are from the slashes that are painted/screened on the shoulders. But I would still consider those to be prime since they're more or less the same thing as a shoulder patch. They aren't part of the actual fabric of the jersey. Whereas for example jersey pieces that are actually died two different colors doesn't have anything "extra" added to it, and shouldn't be "prime". If that makes sense.

I buy one color patches all the time because
A. They're still part of the scarcer part of the jerseys,
B. They go for much cheaper. Though really, it's the same thing just not as "pretty."

The only time I've been angry (not even angry, just confused) about "Prime" stuff is what I mentioned above with Panini's hockey stuff. UD/ITG have loooooong considered two or even three colored pieces of jersey material, even with stitches, to be JERSEY. NOT patch(Prime). Other then that, I'm not demanding at all.

I don't want to defend the card companies or anything but the fact is they only started putting the word "prime" on jerseys due to collectors concerns about patch fakers. It just goes to show that it's impossible for the card companies to please everybody. I'm not taking a shot at the OP or anything, I'm just saying in general. Anyways, you would hope that the card would have a better patch but it is by "definition" a prime patch. It's still a great card!

my big gripe is card is # /15 like one guy said Hole 30 is white? they cant find 15 prime pieces for the best card in the set ? otherwise dont even number the cards.. I really could care less if you dont agree or if u like one color patches bottom line on the premiere card in the set being # /15 they could easily have found 15 nice patches to use they just choose not to..we all dont have to agree and if your happy getting a card # /15 with a one color patch then im happy for you but i am not..
