This is a first for me. Guy threw up red flags from the get go and I stopped bothering responding to him. A week or so went by and he bought my item (Glass Cook Top Range Control Board) anyways back in April. They had it for three weeks and filed a return saying it doesn't work at all. I took pictures of it working and its in my listing but that's besides the point.
How the heck do you handle a return? Best case scenario, guy is just stupid and probably can't tie his own shoes let alone fix something properly and my item is fine. Worst case, he broke it and I am out shipping costs from Canada to USA, plus cost of the item. I remember in our original messages he kept asking if I would refund his import/GSP fees, ect if there was a problem.
Ebay rep told me to ask him how much to ship it back and paypal him the money. This could be a major flaw in the GSP to get scammed depending on how it works out.

Since it was shipped via eBay's Global Shipping program, you should not have to take a return nor refund the buyer. A refund would come from the GSP (eBay/Pitney Bowes).
The GSP is supposed to be responsible for the item once it reaches their hub in Kentucky.
I would call eBay again and emphasize that it was shipped via GSP. Sounds like the rep that you initially talked to is not well-versed on GSP shipments, or missed that part of the transaction.

that is for shipping issues, this is an INAD case. pretty sure GSP does not protect against these.

so after some more research....supposedly ebay checks stuff out to confirm it is indeed as described before sending on to buyer, so this should be covered. keep trying until you get a rep. that understands better.

You are correct. They do not cover INAD. However shouldn’t the buyer lose their eBay money back guarantee the second it got shipped to The GSP in Kentucky?

remember.....this is ebay we are talking about. there is seemingly a circle of loopholes that will get either a seller or a buyer (and sometimes both in the same case) to where they want the case to end.
ebay rep A - buyer wins case
ebay rep B - both win the case, ebay will eat cost
ebay rep C - seller wins the case
i do not even think the "supervisors" truly know all the rules they have and how to properly enforce them.

I found this on ebay
"The item was sent to another address after original delivery
Covered:
The item was forwarded as part of an eBay program such as:
Global Shipping Program
eBay international standard delivery
eBay Authenticity Guarantee
Not covered:
The buyer used third-party freight forwarding or mail redirection"
Looks like GSP can easily be scammed as well. Just great. When I print a return label its going to by a domestic label since I never had the buyers address and I actually shipped to Kentucky. What a mess.

A small update. I talked with a rep and I am still sort of clueless. I was told I cannot get a return label because its in another country, the buyer has to do it. They want me to send the buyer (who has already proven dishonest) money through paypal however much they want to ship it back.
What a cluster. Ebay's system wants me to send them a return label but I was just told its not possible to do on my end and I cannot get an international return label. I also asked the buyer why it took them over 3 weeks before telling me the control board doesn't work and crickets. I've asked twice and it went ignored twice.
I still haven't accepted the return but either way it looks like I'm getting screwed out of $100+. If I actually do figure out a way to get it shipped back and it comes back ruined I still have to go through ebay's appeals process to get any of my money back.
On a side note I had another GSP buyer complain they hadn't gotten their item after less than two weeks. If it didn't show up today to cancel and refund them. I explained to them how GSP works. They then file saying "Item doesn't appear to be authentic), its a lower door bracket trim piece for a oven door. The funny thing is I love when people run their mouths and lie in the return reasoning section where you can write something not understanding I can read it too.
