The timing is interesting, considering the correction going on in the market as a whole.
Will bring a new meaning to ebay Comps this summer while most are out negotiating at shows and open markets.

Doesn't really mean anything, though. The buyer can still refuse to pay if they win and you're forced to wait 5 days before you can cancel the transaction and re-list. I wish ebay would change the policy from 5 days to 2 days instead.

Shoot when I first started selling waiting only 5 days wasn't too bad... granted that was waiting on a check/money order or cash. I think 2 days is slightly too soon in my humble opinion. I think only 2 days could also backfire to where if someone is running up their auction they wouldn't care if the fake/shill account won it because they only have to wait 2 days.

Meh. They can still just not pay.

I don't know about anyone else's situation, but buyers were already contacting me to cancel their bids rather than doing it themselves. I tend to ignore them.

It really doesnt matter the buyers will do what they want and the bid retraction is even worse of an idea to ask the seller to let them out of their bid.

It'll never happen....
but it might actually be helpful if there was a "Retraction Fee".

10% of whatever the bid amount was.
So if I put in a $500 bid and then retract it, I owe eBay $50.


And maybe try a similar premise with an "Unpaid Items Fee".

When a user reaches a certain threshold of unpaid fees,
they get locked out from buying/selling until they pay up.

Heck, eBay charges a fee for everything else anyway.

Sellers who leave those feedbacks are most likely not giving strikes. False positive feedback does not equal a strike. This is proven by the simple fact that if you had your blocks set correctly these buyers would not have been able to bid. There is a log on ebay you can open that will show you bids blocked via these blocks.

If those buyers report those feedback to ebay the sellers involved will likely be slapped with a 3 day suspension and all the feedback would be removed. These sellers are not doing anything but putting their own accounts at risk
