I am looking into starting my own eBay store but I am trying to see what the pros and cons are for doing so. If anyone has one, and would like to share their opinions, I am very much interested in hearing them. Thanks.

I haven't ever used Ebay, but I do have my own VIP storefront on SportsBuy. The overall monthly fee is a lot cheaper for me. Do you only want to use Ebay???

I wouldn't say I am only willing to use eBay, but I want o be able to have as much exposure as possible with the most site traffic opportunities.

I have the $49.95 per month store option. Love it. Its well worth the price. I've done very well since opening my store last June.

I like finding other avenues besides Ebay. I'll have to check their fees and compare. Very interesting.

what is sportsbuy?
It used to be Naxcom. Check it out... Baseball Cards, Football Cards, Basketball Cards, Hockey Cards, Rookie Cards, Vintage, Sports Memorabilia, Sports Autographs for Sale - Sports Cards Collectibles Marketplace (http://www.sportsbuy.com)
It's a free sports card marketplace...you can list as many cards as you want for free and only pay when it sells. Keep them in your store, upload them to auction within SB, you can do whatever you want all for FREE!
If you want your personalized storefront, you can become a VIP and set your own free shipping promotions which helps generate sales.
The fees are way less than Ebay, and as far as your own ecommerce store, SB's prices are far more reasonable than Ebay.
I really like it...it's all up to the individual on how well they use the site though.

Do you do well with this site?
Yes, I would say I do fairly well. The fees are a lot cheaper which helps me and with my own VIP storefront, I can attract customers to my specific store with my own promotions.

I've bought from Sportsbuy, but most cards are HUGELY EXPENSIVE on there. Seems like sellers don't pay attention to recent sales. Still asking for $200 for some Jamarcus Russell cards, lol.

You're right...there are some sellers that don't keep track of their stuff as well as they should. But, you can still submit a private offer of what you are willing to pay and they can either accept/reject/or counteroffer.
Thing to remember that with any site, there are good buyers/sellers and bad buyers/sellers.
Most of all the VIP sellers are great because you can get free shipping by purchasing a certain amount of cards. For me, if you buy $15.00 worth of cards from me whether it be one card, 3 cards, 100 cards, the shipping is free which is pretty cool.
