Crazy Dollar Box Find. 90s numbered

In my 25 years off and on in the hobby, I have never seen an Spx Grand Finale in person until today so I couldn't distinguish the difference between the Gold and Grand Finale. There were 2 golds sitting together in a dollar box and I damn near pissed myself when I flipped over the Joe Smith and saw that it was actually serially numbered.

For those who don't know, the way you distinguish between the 2 is the upper left corner. The Grand Finale is fully gold whereas the regular gold upper left corner looks similar to the base. NFT/NFS.

Although the design is nice, the actual content is pretty terrible and laid out very well.

Wow crazy you found that in a dollar box. I have the Olajuwon grand finale. Bought something on eBay 10 years ago that would say 7x times what you pay for the lot. It was from a guy closing up his shop. He actually gave pretty good value with the Olajuwon grand finale and a signed iverson ball for 125 or 150 dollars.

This Joe Smith is definitely worth more than $200. An Antonio McDyess sold for $555 in July, a LaPhonso Ellis for $600, and a Finley for $500.

Not gonna lie - I actually dug out an old box just to look at some of these cards in hand again. I just have a stack of dollar base cards (for real though, not like OP's awesome find); definitely brings back some memories. Thanks for posting!

Believe it or not, these cards were found at a card shop. It's really rare to find anything this good in a card store as most card stores don't even have dollar boxes to begin with. I bought around 60 cards that day. These are the best ones. The two precious metals aren't pictured with the group because they have already been sold.

For those wondering the difference between the regular gold and Grand Finale you can see it here. On the Grand Finale, the entire front of the card is gold including the hologram. There is also a major difference on the left side of the card as the entire left side is gold whereas on the regular gold it looks like the base.

OP, thanks for the clarification on the differences. I knew about the hologram differences, but didn't know about the left side difference. I've actually never seen a gold in person, only the Grand Finale lol.
