Help: What do you do when a card says delivered but you don't have it?

I've never had this situation happen before, so thought I'd ask here if I'm out of luck on this.

Bought a card on ebay, card shows delivered the other day, but the card wasn't in our mailbox/porch/etc.

I've checked with the immediate neighbors and they didn't get it. I planned on waiting until the end of the week to see if it showed up, but if it doesn't show up do I have any recourse since it says delivered?

Do I contact the seller?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’d let the seller know and call the post office and have them look at their gps system to see exactly where the mailman scanned delivered. Ask to speak to the supervisor or post master

Was this a PWE type shipment, or a package?

If it's one of those eBay rigid envelope shipments, it shows "delivered" when it reaches the post office.

That helps. I was assuming I’d need to call them (the PO) in the next day or so.

It wasn’t PWE as the tracking number was consistent with a first class tracking and not the eBay PWE type of tracking. It was a $130 card so I’d assume
Bubble mailer.

Tracking does say that it was delivered to the “parcel locker” but it hasn’t shown up yet. I want to hope that the PO put it in someone’s box that isn’t an immediate neighbor and maybe they haven’t checked their mail in a few days.

This happens to me once a week. The list office scans the cards delivered at the post office when it’s received but before it’s delivered (as a way to keep up on delivery times). The next day or so it will be delivered. Still, on the off chance it’s actually lost, file a claim with USPS, and ask them to search for it. It will undoubtedly show within a day or two then. I’ve only had the card @disappear@ once. I provided ebay with the details and the communication with the USPS and they refunded me.

You should be able to get a pic of the area they delivered it.

Sometimes the seller has the wrong address.

One time a purchase of mine said delivered, but was delivered to the same house number and similar street name in a different zipcode. I ended up tracking the item down a few miles from my house.

I am with you in spirit. This has happened to me with both FedEx and USPS and I cannot even begin to tell you how much it pisses me off.

Call them and scream. They'll do something. It's worked for me and makes me feel better.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Bought a card for $3, including shipping. It was sent with eBay’s PWE with tracking. Card showed delivered, but nothing. I waited 2 days for reasons mentioned above. I wasn’t going to submit any claim through eBay knowing I likely wouldn’t win and it was only a few dollars. I didn’t want to make a big deal about it, but reached out to the seller to see if by chance it got returned (I’ve had that happen to me on cards I’ve sold). It didn’t. At that point I just dropped it. At $3 it wasn’t worth any more of my time.

2 and a half weeks later, the card showed up in my mailbox.

We have cluster mailboxes and we literally mis-delivered mail weekly...it's quite frustrating, but we have a decent relationship with our neighbors.

This has occurred to me twice in the past few months. Like others have said, they showed up a few days later.

I tried going into the eBay help center but because it shows delivered there isn’t anywhere to chat with someone. Anyone know what to do?

The phone number I found for them doesn’t work. Any advice on how to contact them?

Tell USPS you suspect theft. Because it’s a federal crime, they take it more seriously when they investigate. I know most USPS guys are lazy and scan packages as delivered before they leave on their routes and stuff doesn’t get delivered. Could be a new person took over route or something else silly like that. But theft is a possibility. So use it. Good luck!
