Hey Blowouts

Wondered if you could help me out?

Received a UD 301 Lebron rookie back from PSA, was underwhelmed by the grade

Also sent in 6 Fleer Tradition Lebron rookies, was spot on on those grades

Could you take a look at these pics and tell me your point of view?

After I get a few posts, unbiased by the actual PSA grade, I will post the grade and entertain any additional input

No visible surface scratches/creasing

Would truly appreciate your collective eye

Thnx

Front bottom left corner, back top right corner. Got an 8 maybe 7?

My estimates are a little biased since you said you didn't like the grade but I would think the Upper Deck was a 7.

My guess is a PSA 6. Every corner looks like it has an issue. Those dark bordered cards are an absolute pain to grade. Even a slight scratch stands out easily to a grader.

The card looks like a 7-8 (depending on the grader) considering the issues on the edge of the card as well as some obvious paper loss on the top right corner on the back.

Just a quick q: Did you also use any magnifiers to closely analyze the card? There may have been some surface issues not visible to the naked eye.

Who knows though? Grading is subjective. Maybe your grader wasn't feeling so generous at the time or got tired of grading LeBron's :)

Made my decision before seeing any of the other posts, but would also expect a PSA 7-8. Based on the minor bottom edge wear on the front I was thinking PSA 8-9, but with the wear on the back top right corner, I adjusted to a PSA 7-8.

I am going to say 6, 7 if they were generous. I personally would not have even sent that card in.

7 at best. 5 at worst. The amount of white on the back upper right corner might suggest heavy damage.

PSA 6. The back of the card, top right is a pretty significant wear. I would not sent a card like that. In my career subs to PSA, I have not gotten lower than a 8.5 (only 1 time), everything is above 8.5+.

gotta be honest, didn't expect to see PSA 4 on this.

You likely missed a very fine crease. Or that back upper right corner is significantly damaged.

Yeah like I said I have a pretty good eye

Everything I have ever sent into PSA I have been within one grade on my estimates

Crack/resubmit to PSA or elsewhere?

A solid card, long term

If it is a PSA 4 there is a surface wrinkle or crease somewhere on the card. Here is a card I graded with SGC. I was confused and it took me about 5 minutes to find the surface wrinkle on the card. It only showed up at a specific angle with a decent amount of light. There is something significant there that you missed.

Ouch.

Sorry for yout loss.

I aint sending my 2 in then.

And people say PSA is the standard. I remember when everything from them came back a 10 or 9.

Did you slip in 2 × $100 notes?

You missed something. If you send to someone else, you're just hoping they miss it too.

Yeah, 4 is rough on that one. Back corner is not good, but as others have said you must have missed something to drop it from the 6-7 range to a 4.

PSA 5 is usually the automatic for surface wrinkle, add in that corner and a 4 is plausible. check it over again at a sharp angle with a high powered light and you will likely find a wrinkle. I would be willing to bet back over front.
