Wade Boggs auto real? Any Boggs experts?

I've had this card in my collection since 1993-1995. I don't remember how I acquired the card, but I did not get it IP.

I've looked at all of the early 2000's pack pulled Boggs auto's and none match. So, the question is, is anyone familiar with his earlier IP autographs (1980's-2000) that can verify if his auto was different when he was younger.

I am leaning towards a fake, but I've been proved wrong before, most notably on a Griffey Jr. early auto that I thought was fake but turned out to be real.

It has some similarities to his early signature, but the angle, hesitation and then the odd starting point of the 'W' would have me avoiding it.

I actually just got one authenticated at the National and it looks like this graded one, not the other. I'll be really surprised if it's legit: I'm not a handwriting expert by any means but have dealt with enough over the years to see that there tend to be some hallmarks that stick with your writing style no matter how it might degrade or be rushed as time goes on, and I just don't really see that here. I picked up a cheap ungraded Ripken auto a while back that I was dubious of for the same reasons, and someone else on the board agreed. Sure enough, sent it in at the National too and it didn't pass muster. Back in 93-95, I'm sure fake Boggs autos were being passed off as legit left and right. Not a fan of grading at all, but authentication of autos? All day long.

Second ball 1978 at Muzzy Field Bristol CT in person signature on field after game

First ball 1988 outside Fenway as he was driving down street with Greenwell driving..

BillI would ask them for visual proof of another authentic autograph that matches. The W, d, and e in Wade are completely wrong as is the B in Boggs. I cannot find another signature from 1983 to 1985, including from among the ones in my collection, that is even close.
