Apologies if there's been a thread on this but does the left side of the W need to be completely visible for it to get a PSA10 in most cases?

Not unless they've made some recent changes to how they grade that card.

PSA pretty much ignores centering for these cards, or at least they did.

Not based on the 10s I've had. If you really look at the full Ws, they often look more off-center than the cut-offs IMO.

I’ve had PSA 10’s with both a full W and a cut off W

There was a great thread with lotsa examples pictured. I am not sure how to pull it up from a search.

You should base the centering on the Topps symbol instead. A full W with a little space on the left actually means the card is off centered to the right. Perfect centering, the W is slightly cut off. One of the biggest misconceptions on this card, that you need a full W. Even looking at BGS graded 10's, most of the 10 centering cards have a slightly cut off W.

It’s nonsense.

I asked because I had never thought about until recently and didn't think it mattered with full bleed cards. However, when I looked at my last sub where all 3 x US300's got a PSA9 they all had the W cut off. Looking back at my first sub where 3 of the 4 got a PSA10 all the W's were showing or just touching.
Again, I didn't pay it any attention until I heard someone mention it recently. I'd like to buy a raw chrome copy and get it graded down the track. I've never owned a chrome version before. The PSA10 is out of my comfort zone at the moment( $270 on ebay but more like $325 with customs duty and postage. I have $200 on comc but that only gets me an 8, the 9's are $300 and the 10's are $400.
I'll just go with the cleanest, sharpest card and not worry about the W.
Thanks for the responses. Appreciate it.

Great. Thank you.

Every 2018 Topps card comes back a 10. It just doesn't matter how it's centered.
Now, when the revolution begins in the future and Marshawn Lynch becomes an expert ATM cracker, people are going to look at the Soto card and say, "So, you're telling me that the card's intended, perfect centering cuts off a chunk of the team's logo? Yeah... I don't think so."
Presidencies will be won and lost on the Full-W issue. It will pit brother against brother.

There’s like 15,000+ US300 PSA 10’s out there. Do a search on eBay and see what the centering consensus seems to be.

This is absolutely not true. The Topps logo is a foil stamp that can vary wildly in placement.
