On last night's steal, the pitcher stepped off before throwing, so it wasn't a pitch. It was a play on the runner. If the batter interferes at all then he is called out.

Baez broke for the plate after the catcher tried to pick him off at third. So while it goes down as a stolen base, it's not a garden variety stolen base of home. A straight steal of home simply means you break for home on the pitch (or before the pitch) and steal it cleanly.

This makes no sense. But something to think about going forward. Say Team A has bases loaded and Team A batter hits one over head of RF. Ball bounces off wall, Team B RF chasing can grab and accidentally throw it in the stands (by acting like he was trying to grab it and it slipped through his hands). Instead of clearing the bases, it's only 2 runs. Saves a run, keeps 2 runners on base.

I don’t see this as a problem going forward as this is something that never or as to my knowledge has ever happened before. I don’t think in the process of trying to field a ball most outfielders would even think of trying what happened with Renfroe.

If discretion is not in the rulebook for ground rule doubles, than that is just bad luck for TB. Sucks, but I have always held the belief one play doesn't predicate outcome. TB still had a chance to bring run home and not give up runs in the bottom half.
