Reasons and Solutions for EBay Suspending Your Account

Woke up this morning with a lovely email from our friends at EBay that my account has been suspended. Of course no explanation. Haven’t done anything out of the ordinary. Are there any particular reason why ebay suspends accounts? Best way to get this resolved?

I had issues because my SSN wasn't completely in their system for tax purposes. I wasn't suspended but I didn't get paid for 2 weeks. Best thing to do is call em and see what the issue might be.

A few years ago, I took advantage of a good deal on Tracfones by taking the Buy It Now on 5 different Ebay accounts (there was like a 10K supply, but it would only let you check out with one), all going to different addresses. I didn't think there was any rule against it. The next day, I found out my buying privileges were suspended on all of those accounts, and they remain suspended to this day. They didn't cancel any of the orders and the "deal" continues to be a near weekly thing on Ebay years later, but clearly I triggered something. I tried emailing and calling, but there was no way to get buying privileges reinstated. Oddly, my main selling account continues to let me sell as much as I want. I just can't place a bid or buy anything, which is annoying.

They permanently suspended my account. Said I was a risk to the community with my activities. I can’t think of anything I was doing that was not within their policy.

What were you selling? You have any returns, annoying messages or retracted bids lately? Honestly, you probably made a high profile seller angry, who flagged/reported you and followed-up.

What were you selling? You have any returns, annoying messages or retracted bids lately? Honestly, you probably made a high profile seller angry, who flagged/reported you and followed-up.

Wax, Graded Cards, Non graded cards. No returns ever. Only messages recently were a request to combine shipping and someone trying to negotiate a Hoops Premium Blaster that I never responded to. Had one negative review that was an accident and the buyer couldn’t figure out how to change it, but eBay removed it. I don’t really do auctions 90% of my listings are buy it now.

Does anyone know the best method to actually speak to someone at eBay?

I really try to make sure everyone is happy with each transaction. I mainly sell graded cards and wax and use the profits to pay for personal PC Cards. So it’s frustrating if I can’t use the platform anymore

It’s fine you don’t believe me all good. Just came here for advice. I wouldn’t waste everyone’s time if i deliberately knew what I did to receive the ban.

I don't link my Ebay ID here, nor would I ever say what it is here.
I had an experience with another message board where my ID was known and had morons screw with my auctions.
I'm way too opinionated and there's way too many morons on this message board to ever want to go through that BS ever again.

Unless something has changed in recent years, you get a warning first for doing "direct" deals. I got the warning and then had a number of suspicious offers after that which led me to believe they test you out, but that died down after a few months and have had no issues since then.

I am a top rated seller

140 transactions
0% Late Shipment rate
Tracking uploaded and Validated 100%
0% Case Closed without seller resolution.

I’ve never done any of the above.

I guess my frustration is I just want to know what I did. Since their email is so cryptic and non specific. I’ll own it if it was something I did unintentionally. Appreciate your help.

I think they've been on the WiFi at one point or another (don't think any while bidding, did remind a buddy to pay while hanging once or twice); I make everyone pay through eBay though, so not an issue at all (I have a pretty big card-centric grouping of friends)

Friend of mine got slapped by Amazon earlier this month never been an issue in 2 years averaged nearly 200K in sales Dec 2nd he wok up to a message saying his account was suspended and did not say why. He has over 12000K in inventory in FBA and had about 8000 in pending payments right now it is doubtful he will get either back without a huge legal fight.

Was finally able to reach someone on the eBay Instagram after trying calling, Facebook, and Twitter. They are letting me appeal the suspension. Will prob lose the appeal. But at least I got a response!

The question is what are you appealing if you think you didn't do anything.... Did they give you something to rebut?

eBay will tell you what caused a suspension and will reverse suspensions if there isn't a clear violation of terms. So, either the OP knows there was a clear violation (usually eBay sends a warning or two), or eBay's system flagged something by accident on the OP's account causing the suspension - which would be reversed in the appeal.

These types of posts seem to be always missing a vital part of info in the story...

EBay reviewed my account and reinstated it. I didn’t even bother asking for the original reason for the suspension. Appreciate everyone’s help.
