RIP Don

He was the first player to ever crack 10,000 receiving yards. I’m putting together an autographed set that he’s in and I was shocked/felt kinda bad that I got his for like $8. It’s a shame how people just up and forget/don’t care about most of the all-time greats when they get old as evidenced by this thread and his card prices.

To be fair, I don't think its a matter of anyone forgetting about him. There were over 800 listings on ebay alone for Don Maynard autographs before news broke.

The man made his living selling his signature for the past 40 years. And was great TTM for free as well.

Just supply and demand, bringing down his value.

I know at one of his last public signings, he would only sign his name, and maybe, HOF. No inscriptions. He was very shaky as well. But signed until the very end.

Found a picture from the signing I just mentioned. That's my stuff on the pile to the left of him, including my Hall of Fame Jacket that he signed.
