View Full Version : Does This Bring Down BGS 10 Pristine Value

I was looking to get a few 2011 Leaf Metal Draft cards graded by BGS. I checked the population report and out of 132 submissions, 115 have come back BGS 10. That is just rediculous. Doesn't really add much value by grading if 90% of the product is pristine. What do you think?

Totally agree, wouldn't bother sending em in to get graded any longer.

I still think you will still get a premium if you get a BGS 10.

Agreed. Most people wont check the pop report.

To be honest if I got some of this product and had them graded and they came back less than a 10 I would be a little peeved since they come in sleeves and a top loader when you buy the box!

Really? I didn't know that. I only bought the singles from this product and didn't get any boxes. Guess that makes more sense then.

Here is a link to a break if you are interested. If the people you were buying singles from charged you for supplies I'd be looking for a couple bucks back lol.

Don't all these cards comes sleeved and toploaded right out of the box? That definitely would help the grades IMO compared to cards pulled raw out of a pack. The number of BGS 10's already may seem extreme but when you consider how they're packed it sorta makes sense.

This is from the President of Leaf, Brian Gray. He is a member of another forum and someone else made a similar thread last night, this is BG's response, which makes sense.

"The actual numbers (as Ive spoken to Beckett) are much closer to 10% pristine, 70% 9.5, 20% 9 and below.

The pop report is skewed because the one guy who has submitted all 960 cards from his 20 case break submitted Raw Card Review. He has slabbed all his 10's and is starting to slab 9.5's. now...
RCR's only appear on POp Report once slabbed.

Once these are slabbed, the ratio should start to approach the rate I listed above.

All you need is a Beckett "sign-in" account. No payment necessary.
