There’s a thread going around right now with the players that don’t get any hobby love. There’s a lot of popular players out there right now but who are the ones that those in the hobby are looking for the most? 5 QBs come to mind almost instantly but then not sure where to go

Burrow
Herbert
Mahomes
Brady
Rodgers

Then where do we go?

I think the 2021 rookie QB class may eventually produce 2-3 guys.

Jones
Lawrence
Lance
Fields
Wilson
Mills

I also believe if Chase has a big day Sunday his stuff will get hot for a bit.

Why not just say QB’s?

Some dude who caries a purse said Derek Carr is super collectable. Seems pretty reasonable!

Josh Allen for sure too

Non Qbs I think the most popular right now are Justin Jefferson, Ja'marr Chase and Jonathan Taylor.

A lot of people collect Allen and I’m not saying he’s a slouch or anything, but how long does he go before he simply becomes just a really good QB with no SB appearances? How do you guys gauge when a player becomes not collectible any longer?

One they've had an identical career to Phillip Rivers.

It took Peyton 6 years to win a playoff game, Allen has only been in the league 4 years so he is going to be just fine.

I saw it. People also say Lamar Jackson is a stud as well as Baker Mayfield yet their prices have slumped quiet a bit. Seems like day trading with these guys up and down hot/not status lol

Anyone that says Lamar is a stud doesn't watch football. He can run. His QB Rating has dropped the last 3 years. Teams are figuring him out.

I'd say QBs are your best bet for collectability.

There are even a small group of collectors who are still holding out hope for Trubisky, Goff and Rosen.

QBs who were hot one moment and ice cold the next are dudes like Deshaun Watson, Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Carson Wentz, Sam Darnold, Lamar, Kyler and Baker.

Collecting those QBs is basically throwing money away and are horrible hobby investment decisions.

Not to turn this into a Josh Allen thread, but personally, I would err on the side of caution collecting him. Not saying he'll never have a lot of success, it's just the way that he plays that gives me slight doubt. Yes, he's amazing, but the way he plays reminds me of Cam Newton 2.0. Stronger arm, no question. But they way he runs and trucks people WILL eventually catch up to him. Lamar is already breaking down and he runs and avoids the hits.

Josh is in the record books with a lot of the all time greats for quite a few passing stats at this point in career. Cam has always been terrible at throwing a football. Cam often ran right into a full line of people. Josh is much more elusive. He slides/goes out of bounds when necessary and goes for it with contact when necessary. Yes he could get hurt at some point, just like any lame duck QB sitting in the pocket and taking a low blow like Burrow last year. Or any other QB that runs that doesn’t have his size/elusiveness/intelligence.

No question Josh is a better thrower than Cam. As he gets older, maybe he could not run as much. He'd still be very effective. I just think as defensive backs get smaller/faster, the temptation to run (and run these DBs over) is hard to pass up. None of these guys want to hit him, and I can't blame them.

I wouldn't say that. Accuracy has always been an issue (you see that in Int % and Completion %) But he was a former MVP and Well-deserved. I do think Josh A. feels like he is progressing more over time.

But I've seen Allen get flat-out walloped while running. He runs recklessly, a lot. That WILL catch up to him. He needs to know that skillset will go away sooner than later and "Steve Young" himself.

Non QBs I would say:
Justin Jefferson
Ja’marr Chase
CeeDee Lamb
Stefon Diggs
Mike Evans

Derrick Henry
Jonathan Taylor
Also Mccaffrey and Zeke if they could stay healthy put a complete season together would gain momentum quickly.

I'd trust someone that carries a purse over someone that can't spell CARRIES.

Caries = decay and crumbling of a tooth or bone.

This was exactly Steve Young. He depended on his legs to move the ball. As he aged, and also got smarter, he learned the game better and had the arm to win that way.

I think Allen will be fine. The Dude is winging 4,500 yards a season. Close to 45 total TD's. And 750 more yards on the ground.

If he was doing the same stuff for the Cowboys, Bears or Giants. It would be a slam dunk investment. The fact that he is doing it in small market Buffalo, hurts his value.

JA playing for the Bills is perfectly fine. His rc card sold for a quarter mil a few weeks ago so him playing for a small market team does not hurt his value much imho
