I bought a nice card on e-bay, and now have it in my possession. When I scan the PSA cert, it says "This Cert is currently in a user's private set registry inventory".
What does that mean, and how do I get that moved over to my private set??
Thanks!

Go into your Inventory and try to add it on the website. It will then notify the original owner who hopefully will remove it from theirs. If they don't (either they are not alive, on vacation, or are a jerk) then after a few days you can try to add again. At that point, you can petition to have your card added. They'll probably require you to send pictures of front and back. If the other person also sends pictures of front and back, you may have a faked Cert (or sometimes an accidentally duplicated cert). Then PSA will have both people send their cards into PSA to confirm they're both real.
Good luck whichever situation you happen to be in.

Every 5-10 slabbed cards or so that I buy I run into this. Usually resolved in 3 days and I can add it.
I have all my graded cards in my inventory.

Don't make your sets private. Just let them compete all out in the open. Private is for people hiding trimmed cards or jerks who want to pop up out of nowhere to "win" the set registry competition at the deadline... ;-)

Still no idea what a set registry is and why people think it’s great

You could read up on it if you were curious.

People are just lazy
Out of my 1,200 card PSA PC I still have 17 that aren’t in my registry
Now to be fair I’m too lazy to scan them, with my name, and send them to PSA to get them removed from the seller
But his option is way easier. Just delete it

So collectors of the same set, can do this to each other via the registry
