why are topps chrome rookies so much in basketball? i only collect football and TC rookies are a couple bucks

Topps Chrome/Topps has been a staple for basketball collectors for awhile. Clean design, nice photography. Plus it usually grades well as long as the centering isn't all cuckoo.

Derrick Rose was a hot commodity in 08/09. You were not guaranteed, nor could you get 1 Derrick Rose Topps Chrome per box. So I guess in a sense they were SP'd.
