Going through some cards to send in to SGC. To my surprise I found 2019 Bowman Chrome Julio Rodriguez Blue Refractor Auto out of 150. Was shocked when I saw what this card is going for. I would like to send it off to get graded. I've never had a card with this kind of value. Not sure how to send it to PSA. Walk through or what? Also what is the best way to sell this card? I just had to put my father in to assisted living and funds from the card would help immensely with his care.

Unless you need it back a few days sooner, super express probably fits the value of the card more. Worst (best?) case scenario is that it gems, and then you get upcharged the extra money based on it's value. But if it doesn't, you save the $300 for the grading fee ($360 if you do the dual service with the auto grade).

You can sub through a third party service that offers to consign cards if you're looking for ease in selling. I know PC Sportscards has that service and has a great reputation on these boards.

I'd also do super express for $300 (rather than walk-through at $600), declare the max value in that service level ($4999), and then if it gets a 10, I still don't think an upcharge to $600 is likely, but it's possible.

Another alternative is to submit it through PC Sportscards, but the highest level they offer is Express at $150, declared value up to $2499. That card is probably worth more than that raw, so that's a slight risk you'd be taking if PSA damaged the card, then they'd pay out the $2499 declared value.

The reason to take a risk like that is the lower grading fee...if it gets a 9, it probably doesn't get upcharged and you save $150. But if gets a 10, then it probably does get upcharged to the $300 level. If you grade it through PCS, then you don't have to pay out of pocket for the grading fee if you consign it to an ebay auction through their grading-to-consignment service. After it comes back from PSA, they list it and sell it, and you get paid out (less the grading fee) based on the fee table on their site. This saves you the return shipping from PSA (if you were to submit it directly to PSA), and it would save you the postage of shipping the card to a consigner (whether PCS, Probstein, PWCC, etc.) if you did elect to consign the card rather than list it & sell it yourself.

Least expensive: Express through PC Sportscards
Next cheapest: Express direct to PSA
Next: Super express direct to PSA
Safest: Walk through direct to PSA

There's a PSA-10 listed on myslabs for $13k with a best offer of $9675.

I would ‘third’ the use of PCSportcards in your situation. I used them once to submit a 2017 Optic Holo Mahomes a few years back for my kid and had no issues. I had the card sent back to me and eventually sold it here on the B/O boards for him. If your goal is to be hands off as much as possible as you deal with your current life situations, their submission through selling capability is probably your best bet. Please make sure you understand all the fees involved from initial shipping with insurance, submission fee, possible upcharges, and consignment fee. This way you understand the potential final $$$$ in your pocket.

If mailing, highly recommend certified mail. It may take a little longer, but a card of that value and potential is worth it.

Yup. That’s a good card to have. Get that to PSA ASAP.
