Why are Exquisite Prices Increasing So Much

I've noticed that Exquisite base and autos for GOATS have just exploded recently. Any reason why this is happening? Is Exquisite clear #1 in terms of premium brands?

Probably because they didn’t explode as much as everything else during the rise. It’s funny that none of those influencers ever mentioned exquisite during the past two years from what I’ve seen.

This. I follow these pretty closely. The high-end stuff has exploded. Base has been pretty stable I'd say.

It literally changed the hobby and the way ultra premium cards are produced. Exquisite Basketball between 2003 to 2009 is universally known to be the greatest product ever made. MJ, Lebron, Kobe and a slew of Hall of Famers like Magic, Bird, Kareem, Bill Russell, etc. including RPA's of that era like Lebron, Wade, KD, Paul, etc. On top of all that, they are absolutely jaw dropping and gorgeous looking cards with mainly Game Used Patches/Jerseys and On-Card autographs. All extremely low printed cards across the board.

Even before the Covid boom where just a handful of cards were selling for 6 figures and higher, there were Exquisite cards in that realm already.

If ANY type of cards should continue to soar, it is Exquisite. Long term holds without a question.

The Exquisite name is irreplaceable. Panini can try all they want with National Treasures and Flawless... and Fanatics can try all they want to mimic Exquisite with their own high end premium cards, but they can never come close to the originals.

Exquisite, cream of the crop. most get bought and in PC, hoarded and locked up forever. Limited supply, increasing demand causing steady rise historically and years out likely as well.

Sp Authentic usually guarantees one auto and two gu, with no desirable inserts and no value for base cards. Most of the time you'll spend like $100/box and get $5-$10 in value, unless you get a hot rc auto or some in demand veteran auto, which are rare, Spx is very similar.

For sure. I don't remember the last time I ripped UD (or anything else, really). Singles all the way.

I was just talking with someone about the 2008 Epic Signatures Update Set. Those were in Ultimate and fell 1/case in (maybe less). Much better off just buying those singles.

At release price you gotta move Chronology above UD Black imo, I ripped a lot of both and love both. A case of Chrono came with a guaranteed A hit in 2007-08 for about $1k, versus a 6-box of Black for a lot more [and many fewer cards].

Ultimate was a great break when prices dipped to $300 for 4 autos, 7 mem, 1 rookie auto mem, and 4 base.
