Let's check on the 2011 Colts during the Suck For Luck campaign and the 2019 Dolphins Tank For Tua. Let's not even bring up the 1950 Lions Fart For Hart.

"Investigated for tanking"?!?!?! LMFAO @ NFL

If the Colts did indeed tank on purpose in 2011, they've paid a steep price in karma since then.

Should go back to 1999 since they have been perhaps the worst team in the NFL the last 25 years.

Could probably investigate about 8 NBA teams just this year who decided to tank.

Heck, even the defending champ Milwaukee Bucks tanked the last game in order to drop a seed.

It's part of the game these days.

2019 Bengals, a season of sorrow for Burrow

2017 Browns, Tank her for Baker

2015 Rams, Fall off for Goff

2014 Bucs, Win-less for Winston

2010 Panthers, Losen for Newton

Ironically this helps prove they weren't tanking...

Browns were 87 and 185 before Hue Jackson got there. Not like they were winning before 2016 or 2017

Hue Jackson is just a flat out awful coach... Hell GGG went like 5 and 3 after Hue got fired... never forget Hue thought the "earth moved" when he saw RG3 play and that he thought Cody Kessler was the best QB in the 2016 Draft

I won't even mention how we wanted to trade a 2nd rounder for AJ McCarron (thank god Sashi did tank that one)

Hue can't help himself from latching on to the original Brian Flores story and twisting it for himself

Dude is a legit psychopath

Probably strip us of our one win. Make us the only back to back 0-16 team. That'll show them

He has a name. He isn't just a random elf. He's Brownie the Elf

Put some respect on his name

And I'd do it

This is the key.

As a Browns fan I'm pumped... because I didn't want any part of Goff or Wentz and I've made that known around here in previous posts. Clearly Hue Jackson agrees. Don't reach for a FQB just because. You need to have a guy you want to hitch your wagon to.

On the flip side I don't blame the Rams or Eagles for making the move if they do believe they are FQB's. There is no price too high if you get the guy for the next 10 years.

You just have to trust your decision makers... and Hue Jackson is a guy, for the first time in a long time, that I trust as a Browns fan

4/21/16
This is the key.

Could Hue Jackson flop? Sure. We have no idea.

But this is the first time in a long time where the Browns have a HC that is one of the most respected men in Football. If he takes a guy even if I don't like them? I trust what Hue is doing

Let's not even bring up the 1950 Lions Fart For Hart.

Comedy like this shouldn't go unnoticed. Those early teams missed out on catchy descriptions of their pitiful seasons.

Like the original 1936 Eagles "Court'n Danger for Berwanger."

Or the 1942 Steelers "Duds for Dudley."

Or the 1943 Lions "Sink for Sinkwich."

Or the 1949 Eagles "Crap the Bed for Bednarik."

Oh I was way wrong about Hue - I don't even need to read this - I was pumped when we hired him after he was OC in the Nati

He had some level of success everywhere he went, even in Oakland, and lots of teams wanted him when he left the Bengals

I am fully willing to admit that

He turned out to be a psychopath...

Yet teams still hire him as he's had jobs after the Browns... so he is respected by some apparently

I did the same thing with Nagy. Dude won Coach of the Year, and the Bears came out firing in year one under him. Boy, did that go south quickly.

I wouldnt put too much weight into Arians over Trestman. In his six seasons without Tom Brady, Arians led his Arizona and Tampa teams to a combined 56-39 (58.9%) record. And was 1-2 in the Playoff.

So unless the Bears would have hired Bruce, and brought Brady along with, it would have just been more of the same.

Yeah Arians is one of the most overrated coaches. Tampa got lucky Brady came and pushed him aside.

The Cleveland Browns have waisted a lot of #1 Draft QBs in the last 30 years. If you look at how many 1st round QBs have gone to the Browns and never developed into anything it is scary. Talk about a waste of draft capital.

Correct several of these QBs probably would have had a better career had been drafted by someone else, but who knows. They went through some VERY VERY High potential Qbs. Tim Couch, Brandon Weeden Quinn, Manziel, Baker Mayfield and I am probably missing some.

Maybe.... but I think it is more likely that after Jackson made his initial comments, some lawyer gave Jackson the (wise) advice that "hey, you just kinda admitted to accepting payment in exchange for deliberately losing games, which is kinda a federal crime - and a pretty serious one - so you might wanna backtrack off your original statement there..."

Flores is safe because he claims he was bribed to lose games but refused to do so. Jackson (originally) admitting his own guilt was.... well, it was pretty darn stupid.
