Hi Guys!
Just a very short recap of the NY show today.
* It was crowded, but not suffocating crowded. There was room to walk around.
* The big lines were for the autographs. Gregg Jeffries was very popular!
* Baseball was hot! Everyone was looking for Soto, Vladdy, Acuna, and future hall of famer Anthony Volpe! Everyone wanted Volpe! I guess they figured it's time to buy when he's slumping!
* As for basketball, all the playoff team guys were moving...Tatum, Luka, etc.
* Surprisingly the value boxes were a big draw. I had a hard time getting a spot! Must be word going around that these are gold mines! People hunched over all day!
Speaking of value boxes, wanted to share some tips when going through them
1. You can tell by "skimming" them with your fingers if these are boxes worth your time or not. I can tell instantly if I want to go through the whole thing or not.
2. If you find one box you like and you got some nice steals, PLACE THE CARDS YOU PULLED FACE DOWN and/or place a crap card on top of it. You will only attract unwanted attention if people see a "good" card being pulled. I'm a "glancer" so if you pull a card, I will glance to see what it is.
3. Also, expect to get row-hijacked (got hijacked a few times today). It's annoying but I always give the guy a benefit of a doubt that "he didn't know what he was doing...just pulling cards out" not knowing the "unwritten-rules".
4. What I do to prevent row-hijacking is to switch the boxes around (if possible, not possible today) so the one you are working on is close to your body. No one is going to reach "through you" to get to the row.
Found some really nice Poole's and Brunson's priced before the playoff explosions! Very happy with my purchases! :)!
