There was never going to be Leiter in this after he wasn't in the base CL. Having renewed disappointment in that is kinda pointless, no?

Leiter will surely get the headliner treatment when he's in. He'll be in all the inserts with base Chrome, autos, maybe even on the packaging.

I'll say it again. Leiter didn't have autos in Panini products post-draft either. My theory is that he's asking a lot per auto & Topps won't pay it (yet). Leaf offers more per auto, so that's why he's there.

Why would they make a top prospect that they specifically held out of Bowman Draft an auto only (Matt McClain)? Reds are already going to be hard for my to collect in this product because of the astronomical prices De La Cruz will be bringing, but now McClain has no base cards/parallels? I'm going to be priced out of collecting my Reds in this product.

His first bowman cards were in 2021 Bowman Chrome.

Edit: I just noticed you were looking for a NON auto with the 1st logo. He was auto only in Bowman Chrome if I remember correctly. And since those have the 1st logo, he doesn't have a non-auto 1st bowman.

Yeah, I edited my first post when I noticed. He doesn't have a non-auto 1st. The BD-195 is from Bowman Draft. But since he already had an auto 1st in Bowman Chrome, the Bowman Draft cards don't have the 1st Bowman logo.

It's from the same year as his 1st, and those will do just fine in the hobby.

Kinda like since Francisco Alvarez has no '1st Bowman' base cards, both his BC & Draft base from 2020 both do well enough. BC does a little better, of course.

There are more autos than we'd like (we knew that was coming), but the lack of pitchers combined with the big (well, big enough) names make this a strong list.

I don't know if the no House/Leiter thing is a trend or deliberate strategy (to hold for BC) or something else. There's enough in the checklist PROBABLY without them for now. But it's a weird one... a couple of "hot" names but not a high-probability bet among them, IMO. Lots of potential. And then with the volume of bats, there's good potential for a guy or three to pop-up out of here which is always fun.

Wander "RC" autos will get people excited... but remember how tough the "good" RC autos have been in the past... we may see a wander 1:20 cases.

Triantos made it, so as a cubs fan I'm happy with that. It was LIKELY but not seeing him on the 1st Ed checklist gave me pause.

James Wood hitting a ton helps this right now. Acuna brother means we'll get some irrational prices there off the jump. People seem to love Watson and EDLC.

A lot of us have been saving up for this in the event the checklist was good enough....not with the thought that we could ever rip at these prices, but to get into group breaks wherever we could find bargains (or if we want to overpay for our team without spending thousands on boxes).

So......depending on how much we have to spend to buy into breaks, this might work out ok. And if not? At least we save some $$ and can nab a couple singles.

His card and auto in 2022 bowman will have 0.00% of an impact on this 1st stuff. 1st isn't affected by this at all.

Well the market is insane - I'm saying for those who have no clue about the CL, check how well guys have been selling from the 1st edition stuff.

This CL is really deep. I won't even consider buying any hobby or jumbo, but it's a fun CL for those buying singles.

Has anyone seen the odds on a blaster/value box that they can share? I was thinking only green and green shimmer chrome autos (along with paper autos) could be pulled from blasters in the past but saw on Facebook a base chrome auto of Ben Bailey that was pulled from the blaster.

Not sure if posted yet but this is Wander's RC in the set. I imagine it'll be the same image on his auto's which is what people actually care about. I also imagine they will be super rare redemptions

I ran the numbers on depth using Pipeline's team top 30's. I cross checked players who changed teams as best I could. Base-only and Auto-only names are included:

2021 Bowman -- 24 '1st Bowman's' in Team Top 15's, 40 players total in Top 30's
2021 BC -- 27 Top 15, 44 Top 30
2022 Bowman -- 41 Top 15, 69 (nice) Top 30

Keep in mind BC is designed to grow into as a set, and some significant player's won't yet be in Top 30's, as we're still less than a year in the rear view from that set. But the same could be said for 2022 Bowman.

My point is made though. This checklist is both deep and good.
