With all that is going on in the world right now Tommy Pham might win the award for tool of the year!!! He apparently slapped Joc Pederson in the face before the game yesterday over a Fantasy Football disagreement!!! What a clown. If I am not mistaken he is the same guy who got assaulted at a night club and almost had his career ended...:doh:

If you're not throwing a punch, then why even bother?
And football has dynasty leagues and offseason leagues too. Maybe Joc sniped Tommy on a trade with someone.
Either way, Will Smith and Tommy Pham are making men look bad with all this stupid slap crap.

Boy could you imagine if that had been the other way around? Joc would have been label for lifetime. He may have even said Joc cal;led him Jackie.

I think the ESPN article pretty cleared indicated that the beef was the result of Joc putting a player on IR last season then picking someone else up. Generally speaking, this is ok and ESPN"s default settings enable this type of transaction.
All that said, this is some silly nonsense for a professional athlete to get worked up about and Tommy Pham seems to have anger issues.

Pham is a POS, ask pretty much any fan of any team he has ever been on.
And seems silly I agree, but you never know, maybe its a $25k league. Thats heavy Money. Im in a $150 baseball league where guys have gotten extremely verbal against one another for #@#@#@#@#@#@#@#@. I couldnt imagine being in a high money league

If it’s a keeper/dynasty league you may still be able to make trades and other things.

Pham has proven him self to be a less than stellar human previously.
Making up scenarios to create even more division and resentment than we already have?
I’m sure there are plenty of sites where these kinds of statements are applauded and agreed upon roundly.
The baseball hobby forum thankfully ain’t one of them.

Stashing players on IR is far from slap-worthy.
I took advantage of the Taysom Hill TE-eligibility a couple seasons ago and when ESPN unfairly removed that position from him I just didn't make any lineup changes and ignored the Invalid Player warning for an extra week to leave him in my TE slot.
I shudder to think what Pham would have done about that little move...

Never wanted to slap anyone for doing that. If you have then maybe you and Tommy need to join a league together. Show us the video when you two have players on the IR.

This was from a league they were both in last football season. A league that's been over for 6 months. They'd not talked since the group text that Tommy 'called' Joc out about. Paths didn't cross during spring training because Tommy wasn't signed at the time the teams interacted. This had been living rent free in his mind the whole time.

A man doesn't slap another man
They do in Spain.
Some leagues allow you to place players that are “out” on the IR. You can then add other players to your roster.
Others dont. Pederson was probably just playing within the rules of that league.

Will be interesting to see what the suspension is. Seeing how Donaldson was given one game I think five at the very least for Pham.

So… that was said tongue-in-cheek — sarcastically, if you will — mocking the fact that a fantasy football dispute escalated to a premeditated violent act.

Zactly. I mean, in our league the team with the worst record gets slapped by the champ at our draft every year. I don’t get it. When did slapping someone in the face become unacceptable?

Whose to say it wasn’t a slap bet? Maybe it was supposed to happen during slaps training, but when Pham hadn’t been signed it had to wait slaporial day weekend.

After the federal 2022 Slap Crime Bill was passed by congress two months ago. Chris Rock gave an emotional speech before congress, advocating for male on male slapping to be a federal crime with mandatory sentencing:
"I am here today to speak on behalf of all men who have been the victim of a male slap. I can't change what happened to me, but I ask that you find it in your heart to do what you can to prevent it from happening again."

Pffft, hardly.
Three days of not having to play for the Reds was a very nice reward indeed.

So this idiot Pham didn't get his way in fantasy football and hit an adult? Also, someone mocked the team he doesn't play for and he hit an adult?
What a loser.

Shoot. That’s right. I guess we’re going to have to switch from slapping to a tickle fight.

If they didn't suspend Pham at least for this series, the Giants would've thrown at his head the first time he came up (not really his head - but, thrown at hit him and hit him hard somewhere), then the Reds would've had to retaliate, and someone could get hurt, benches would clear, etc.
Surprised it was only three games and wondering if Joc is considering suing the guy for assaulting him while they were both at work.

Benches clear all the time and it’s the most hilarious thing in sports. Bunch of hold me back guys in baseball. Hockey players probably think it’s cute.

One things for certain, hockey players aren’t arguing over fantasy sports. This was maybe the dumbest story on ESPN I’ve read in awhile. And that’s not easy to say.

Is there any fantasy league where this is considered bad faith?

There are those who have passion for the FF League and Pham took it to another level. If Joc stiffed him in the league then let the two deal with it. As far as I know, nobody was buried in the league due to fantasy football. Did anybody contract a disease or is struggling, probably not. They both appear to be like the owners of the collusion years 85-87.

Apparently another part of it is that Joc posted a GIF in the group chat for their fantasy football team making fun of the Padres that Tommy Pham didn't find funny. He showed it on his phone in this interview: https://youtu.be/-ydnI0rno4w
