I've sold probably close to 300 diamond giveaway codes between BC and ebay without a single issue (I actually keep a very meticulous list of what codes have/have not been sold and mark a giant red X one the back of the card once it's sold).

I sold 5 codes to an ebay buyer over a week ago, today he emails me saying the codes are invalid and he wants his $ back.

I can't think of any way to verify that he entered the codes and is now trying to defraud me. Any ideas?

My nephews opened some blasters and got "invalid codes" but then after we looked in their portfolio the cards were there and they had digs to be used.

So it seems like they went through anyway.

Tell him thanks for the heads up, you'll contact Topps to see if they'll freeze whatever account used the codes, since you kept a copy of the codes just in case. See if he still wants his refund after that of if they suddenly work for him.

But unfortunately there's no way to verify that he entered the codes.

I agree, you'll have to say someting like that...say that this has happened before and Topps was able to track the account and freeze it, that way if it is BS he might back down...sucks though.

Get his user name on Topps. Then call Topps and ask if they can verify the codes you have have been entered. If so, where they by his account. Topps should be able to verify that. Problem being you'll have to find a way to get any of that in writing from them.

That being said, I know they had a server down, so not sure if thats part of the issue or not (or that the user isnt making sure the code is entered correctly)
