So I know the hate for breaking in here and especially certain breakers. But I am too excited to care. I hit the Warriors Triple Logoman and it Gem’d a PSA 10 which is super exciting. I wanted to hear thoughts on the card itself and just share. But feel free to roast me as well for contributing to the worst parts of the hobby if you must. I’ve been around for years and hope I have contributed positively a lot more then negatively.

Also, why such hatred against Backyard guys? I haven't heard anything truly "scummy" thing they have done as of yet. I read about the Tlaw kaboom card story and it was a nothing burger to me. But other than that I haven't read anything remotely close to negative about them. They are entrepreneurial young kids who entertains while opening. So what?? I have zero problem with that.

I find more clowns and losers with nothing but envy for people with means on Blowout than any other places. But then I have also met some awesome people here so it kind of balances out.

Nice hit on the logoman. Its like hitting a mini lottery winning. I totally respect the fact that you are taking that money and putting it towards a reno or something you can enjoy all year round. I did the same when I cashed out. I gutted my house and upgraded. Best decision I ever made!!

Look, I get that this is a historically significant card because it nicely represents a very important team, but as a Blazers fan, why would you keep this card? You can dump this and buy a really, really nice card for your PC at a fraction of the cost. As a Cavs fan, if I had this, I wouldn't be able to get rid of it fast enough.

Thanks all. I do think it’s rude to ask how much someone spends but I get the sentiment. It’s really asking “did you spend enough where you could have bought the card outright and still renovated the kitchen”. I can say no I did not spend that much. I am pretty sure that when this card sells I will definitely be in the positive. I can say though that I have spent a lot on sports cards since 2006 when I restarted collecting as an adult and this card did feel like hitting the lotto but the enjoyment I’ve had over the years brings it’s own value for sure.

Why did I go with backyard? I like high dollar product but don’t really want to break a whole box or case myself. So I went where there was what I was looking for. I found one of their breakers that is more low key and fits my personality. They are like half my age and remind me of my college fraternity days, but that just doesn’t bother me enough to sit out.

Overall I have had interactions on here and read through posts daily. I was one of the original people who talked about COMC back in the day and introduced it to the forum. So I wanted to share my good fortune. When you talk about this card to non collectors all they want to know about is what it’s worth.

I was hoping we could talk about the significance of the card. This is the core unit of a dynasty. The fact the 3 were drafted and haven’t ever played for another team is pretty neat. Can’t even say that about Jordan/Pippen/Rodman. Though that trio is pretty amazing in itself. Wish there was a Duncan/Parker/Ginobli out there. What other team trifecta Logomans would rival this one?

HUGE congrats on the card! That is going to be the biggest value card you ever pull in your life and that card beats 99% of the cards that us common joes will ever pull. I'm a bulls fans and even though I appreciate the card, I would sell it myself since I'm not a Warriors fan. The best way to keep collecting is to have your collection pay for itself which is what you are doing. Good luck at auctions and I really hope it hits 7 figures for you!

Bird/McHale/Parish would be pretty good one.

From what I’ve seen they probably opened 25% of the flawless product run. Still incredibly lucky but not impossible.

Did goldin give an estimated value on this ? A cool card that I hope does well for you.

You don’t need to explain yourself. Everyone can participate in the hobby how they’d like. That’s an awesome card and I like it more than the Lebron triple because of what those three have accomplished together.

It’s kind of crazy to me that the Lebron didn’t get a good grade. That was the flagship card. It didn’t have auto so it never left their facility and it was encased so it was personally handled. If it was my business none of those cards would have made it to buyers without being remade until perfect.

What’s cool about the warriors one is each logoman has a different color Jersey. Gold/White/Blue. About being straight, I agree seems worth taking the time to make it look as good as possible

People with the big money are already (with few exceptions) spending far less on most Blue Chip modern rookies, and I think they are more wary about anything but Blue Chip (NT, Exquisite, Prizm Gold, etc.) RC's to hold for investment purposes.

Way too many auctions and way too much high-end stuff being sold. Sellers are racing to the bottom. I couldn’t imagine selling a top piece right now given the down market and endless amount of stuff being offered. Horrible combination of factors if you are a seller. But it’s awesome for buyers and collectors.

The worst is some sellers may have consigned stuff months ago but have to wait in line for other copies to sell first, watching each new one sell for less and less each time until yours finally makes it into an auction. The cards like Jordan Fleer 10s, Mahomes NT RPAs, Curry NT RPAs, and LeBron Exquisites that seem to sell over and over again in every single auction. Something may have been a $500k card when you consigned it but by the time it crosses the block could be down to $250k.

It definitely is funny though to see Ken or somebody else at Goldin coming out with a new video hyping the next LeBron RPA going to auction saying stuff like “it’s the rarest high end LeBron” when in reality it’s been sold monthly for like a year now. I remember reading an article a few years back about an investor who had a blank cheque ready to buy LeBron RPAs and it took him like two years to finally get one because nobody was letting them go and you needed connections to even find one available. Now it sells so often you’re bored of seeing them or even annoyed that there’s constantly one being waved in your face by the auction house marketers. The card has completely lost its lustre for me.

You are right:

I found it odd the card only got four bids, considering the curry national treasures RPA /99 (3 9.5 1 10) sold for more. But RC cards are king in NBA. Surprised there wasn't more interest in this card, considering the warriors just came off their 4th title in 8 years.

And even seeing the lebron triple go for over 2 million.
Jordan, Lebron, Kobe triple logoman sold for only 1.68 million. Seems like a lot for us normal folk. But one could argue that is one of the greatest modern cards ever made.

I think these sales speak to the weakness of the overall market. The whole high end is safe thing was always bs.

The consignor only has themselves to blame for that. When you are selling a card worth six figures, you get to dictate the conditions. Not happy with what Goldin is offering? Go to PWCC. Go to Heritage. Go to REA. Plenty of other options out there. I think the biggest mistake people are probably making is not asking what other cards their item is going to be up against. It was horrible collation to have this triple against three different Curry RPAs. Too much overlap of the buyer pool.
