Going through a bunch of stuff that came from my childhood home that have been sitting in the basement of my own home for 10 years now, and came across a bunch of opened basketball boxes (no cards still inside of course) of a lot of products from the mid/late 90's to early/mid 2000's that my teenager self decided to save.

My question is before I decide to pitch them in the trash would be "Is there any value to these?" A quick eBay search didn't reveal much in the way of people actually selling these, which could be good or bad. Good in that finding some of these is rare in that most was thrown away at the time people opened and the only way to find a box would be to buy an unopened one for an insane amount of money. Or bad in that this is just packaging and is basically just garbage.

Some examples of what I have are 03/04 Finest (ugh, listed at $9K-$10K for unopened ones!), 03/04 Upper Deck Legends (Jordan and LeBron on the box), 03/04 Flair Final Edition, 07/08 Topps Chrome Hobby, 05/06 Topps Style '52, and 98/99 SkyBox Thunder.

Thanks for any input some may have on this!

I think there's a small collector market for older or more iconic wrappers and boxes. (e.g. '86 Fleer, 50's/60's/70's topps baseball) I also think old wax boxes in nice shape are bought to replace worn boxes prior to sending to BBCE and old wrappers are also used to create fake "unopened" wax packs. In this case, it's not resealable wax so one can largely rule out that kind of scammer misusing the wrappers if in fact you had those. Boxes of this nature...possibly some value as a display piece to someone that's a big LBJ fan, but it's probably small.

Go on a podcast and talk about how these are underappreciated (make sure you're on the right podcasts) and then get them graded by PSA, pay garyv like 500 bucks to post on social media about it and you just made thousands of dollars, because some dumb ass will buy them. Extra money if it features Michael Jordan, possibly Kobe, or LeBron.

Make sure to list with Goldin or PWCC. If you go with PWCC, the sales will probably be certified legit and listed as such, even if it's actually shilled and not paid for.

CHA'CHING!!!

Not much i don't think but definitely worth something. I didn't buy many cards from the mid 90's through the 2000's but i bought some here and there. I saved these tins from 2003-04 because i thought they looked nice with different players on them. I don't think they're worth much but they're still kind of neat.
