I'm interested in buying some retail product from Walmart and am curious what the top retail products would be. I've never been big into baseball but I figured I would give it a shot.

I'm not expecting to make my money back but wanted to know what the topps products were?

Topps Chrome
Bowman Chrome
Stadium Club
Series 1
Series 2
A&G

Thanks

I would do Stadium Club. The odds have been pretty good with this product. Plus the card designs are really well done. 2nd option would be bowman chrome

Bowman Chrome is your best option. Topps Chrome is also good but not as good as previous years. Stadium Club is great for photography but retail odds can be tough. Flagship is fun but not a money maker, unless they have update, which is great this year. A&G isn’t for everyone but might be your best shot at a hit

Update (hangers if you can get them). I'd say Bowman chrome but $80 CDN is a lot for a mega.

If you are not into Baseball and owning a nice collection of baseball cards and kinda bored and looking for a fun way to just light some money on fire, well I’ve got some free time later on and we could go down to the bar and shoot a few games and chillax with all the chill bar/restaurant people who finally have some time off after the holidays and I will help you just burn up the money.

My best hit in 2022 was from a Topps Chrome blaster, but I was extremely lucky. I pulled a Julio Rodriguez blue autograph #/150. My second-best hit was from an Allen & Ginter blaster. I pulled an Alice Cooper autograph. But I also bought hundreds of other retail blasters and hangers too. It all comes down to how lucky you are.

BC is $80 in Canada or $90 with tax (I assume OP is buying there from his location). Collectors are really gouged by Walmart over there.

Ya ends up being $58 USD with the current exchange rate.

What are they going for retail in the US?

Gambling is gambling. Seems like the long run average "return" on ripping is generally around 30-50%. Makes it a bit worse than scratchers (~75% if I recall correctly) and quite a lot worse than casinos (90-99%).

Yeah I haven't had much luck with any hangers or packs. I only done maybe 4 hangers TChrome, Heritage, Heritage high number, Archives - some Series 1 & 2 packs - think I got 2 no name sigs - couple basic inserts a few rookies, no one special. Wasted $150 - for 10-20 worth of cards maybe? Hit up a card show and dig through some boxes and chat some guys up. It aint ripping wax but you can pick out what you want, have a good time and not feel screwed over.

I would only look to buy flagship update.

Perhaps —- but the OP never mentioned price / only asked what’s “the top”’:)!

just flagship and not chrome update?

Chrome Update: hard to hit anything, expensive, few cards
Flagship Update: hit in every hanger, no chrome tax, lots of cards
