Hi Everyone,

3D printers have always interested me. In college I took an AutoCAD class but soon realized I hated computer based work. Well I found this website called thingiverse and they have all sorts of things you can print.

I searched for card stands and found this one for OneTouch magnetic holders. It took an hour and a half to finish the print, but I didn’t mind. It fits great and free always wins.

I picked up a printer last year and designed some things for my collection.

Storage boxes for minis. Made some for penny sleeved or toploaded minis.

Some stands I made for displaying multiple cards. Made two different versions for vertical or horizontal cards.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your level of eperience with 3D printing/AutoCAD prior to purchasing your printer? I ask because 3D printing has been an interest of mine for quite a few years, but haven't had the extra time and money to invest in learning and buying materials. Thanks.

None. Biggest suggestion is dont buy an Ender. Any money saved buying one is going to be lost on all the time you spend tinkering to get it right. They can be great printers but they're a ton of work.

The mini boxes were the first thing I designed myself.

That looks really nice. I may have to join my boys at our library. They've done various projects using thingiverse and tinkercad and might, and I emphasize might, have the patience to teach me.

I bought one and it sat in a closet for a year because it would take a ton of work. I bought a Prusa Mini and Anycubic Vyper. Pretty much assemble and start printing. The Vyper requires a little more tinkering but works great for the price.

Enders got big because they offered a low entry into 3D printing with decent quality parts. They just require a lot more knowledge and tinkering to get the same quality prints and consistancy as other printers.

It didn’t take me any time to learn it. It was as easy as downloading any other file. Save to flash drive and select the file. All windows based, no learning curve at all. I highly suggest you check it out. The hardest part was leaving the house in the rain.

Hey, I love the stands and the boxes you created. Any chance you’d share the file?

I'll see if I can find the right ones when I get home tonight. The stands may be a little tricky depending on the size of printer you have access to. I can only print them on 1 of my printers as the height exceeds the others max.
