I get was SB is saying, when you look at that photo, it’s clear they’re going after that drip/sneaker boi crowd. I would have liked for them to have waited a few years until Jazz did more on the field and maybe use an action shot on the cover.

But either way, I’m happy for him and excited to see him on the cover. I’m looking forward to what he could do this season. I love the passion he brings to what would otherwise be a very boring franchise (except on days when Sandy pitchers).

I honestly wished they just used the City Connect jerseys. The base Marlins jerseys are not very becoming of a city like Miami.

You said it, you don’t play franchise mode. All their efforts go into Diamond dynasty and that just has never interested me. In franchise, player progression, CPU trading and lineup construction are all terrible but they don’t care about that.

Yup. Can’t argue with any of that. While The Show has used repeat cover athletes before, I think they were trying to avoid that this year. Judge/Ohtani have already been on recently, and Goldschmidt is boring (really good at baseball, but still boring). I think a Verlander/Alcantara combo cover would have been cool. While this is coming from a huge homer, I do think Jazz will eventually live up to the hype.

To be fair, it’s discussed they chose Jazz around the All star break last year. That’s when the wheels were in motion. And at the all star break, he was an all star and having a really good season. Add in the fact he’s young and super fun to watch, it makes sense for what they were going for. Plus Jazz is someone that’s been talking about the show for years.

Yeah, which goes back to the idea he was picked for a specific demographic. He might not be the worst pick to ever grace the cover but he is the most unrecognizable player to be picked. Completely misses the demographic of people who would play the game.

I asked my 11 year old if he saw the cover. He plays a lot of baseball and also plays The Show. Said he did and was disappointed it wasn’t Julio*. He couldn’t remember Jazz’ name but knew him from videos and likes him. He also likes the cover.

*Julio is his favorite player right now so he would have been disappointed no matter who else it was.
