PWCC has one of these tonight. But there are none listed in the PSA pop report which lists 1995 as his first entry and I cannot find any on ebay. Does anyone know the story?

Sticker number #88 from the Panini Parma sticker album, an Italy only release.

Many thanks. Any idea why the PSA 8 would not be in the pop report?

It's a pre-rookie sticker, Buffon made his debut the following season in 1995-96.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't appear in the pop report to be honest. Could be a mistake, could have been removed as a fake?

Not sure what you mean? If you enter the certificate number (68718357) into the PSA lookup page here:

https://www.psacard.com/cert/

Then go down to the bottom of the page where it shows "POPULATION" 1. Click on the blue hyperlink and you go to the page with the entire population, inclusive of this card. Does that make sense?

This one has only been discovered by the hobby in the last 6 months or so. It looks like Panini teamed up with Ediland (a hardware store chain in Italy I think) to make a series of promotional albums for a few teams. So far we have seen collections from Bologna, Parma and SPAL all from the mid-90's, so I would guess that Ediland is exclusive to the Emilio-Romagna region. I think it basically flew under the radar for many years as it pre-dated his debut and was in a small regional promo release.

Yep.

As far as I know, his official first card (not sticker) is in the 1997 Panini Serie A set....
