Good Morning,
I am interested in a card that an Ebay seller is selling. I happen to notice that this ebay sellers account name is the same as his Facebook account name.
I am going to ask him THROUGH FACEBOOK if he would like to conduct a transaction outside of the ebay environment.
My question is,... for the seller, can an auction be terminated with no cost or explanation to ebay.
*** edit - I neglected to state in the original thread that this Ebay listing is for a Buy It Now transaction and not an Auction.
Thank you.

Hello John, I now see the red triangle, I had no idea what that symbol meant but now that I see what I means I am still not sure if I would want to report the post, that sounds an aggressive sort of measure. I'd rather if someone passively deletes the post.
But, if one of the purposes of the red triangle is to delete a post I will most certainly do it.
Thank you.

Hello John, I revised this thread and taken away the request to have the thread deleted. It is too long to explain why I placed the delete request in but this question is active and slightly revised.

The reason I recommended that is because the moderators are not normally reading all the threads. In order to get your post deleted, I would have reported it and typed that you wanted it removed. That's just a trigger for the mods to know there's something needing to be accomplished.

Not really sure what’s going on in here, but in reference to the OP question….there is no charge for sellers to end buy it now listings (and no reason needed either, they just select ‘item is no longer available for sale’).
Even though yours wasn’t an auction, auctions can also be ended early without any charge…on certain conditions though, such as no bids being placed.
So no penalty for the seller in terms of $ spent to end the listing, but there could be losses of protections in their end as seller or your end as buyer if doing it off eBay.

You lose several protections when you go to facebook as a buyer depending on how you pay
