It's always like gambling with this hit-or-miss stuff, but I really like the setup with way less base to sort through and store, and just "get straight to the good stuff" aspect of product like Plates and Patches.
Since there's only 8 cards, here was the progression:
1. Box Topper: Ryan Matthews 4 Color Auto (encased) /699 - good player (could have been worse!), nice auto, great patch! I really like how they're really basically hard-signed cards, just sort of like a cut auto. I actually was quite surprised to see this on top. With my luck, I thought it'd be Kafka or something. Does anyone think its weird that such an awesome patch is numbered so high?? I totally thought this would be like /10 or something...
2. Josh Freeman base /499 - I like how even the base is numbered!
3. Jeremy Horne RC parallel /10 - Meaningless parallels are boring... but its nice it was /10, not /999.
4. Keiland Williams Plate. Auto. 1/1 - I knew what it was the moment I opened the box and saw the metal. I know some people hate these, but I love printing plates (Just like the permanence of the metal), and this is my very first 1/1! I'm so excited that the rest of the box doesn't really even matter at this point (which is good because the rest is definitely anti-climatic).
5. Adrian Peterson City Limits /299 - Love the gold trim...
6. Thaddeus Lexis auto /249 - Also known as Thaddeus LEWIS. Leave it to a breadmaker company to screw up a guys rookie card. This is probably a PC for sure just because its a hilarious error in my opinion.
7. Chris Johnson City Limits jersey /190 - weird number to be "out of", but ok.
8. Mardy Gilyard Rookie Blitz jersey /299 - Wrong Ram, but a really nice card. Again, the gold trim looks amazing.... kind of like a poor man's Topps 5 Star?
9. Wait... 9 cards? I totally thought there were only 8 per box! My eyes must be bad or something....oh well, it's just a Randy Moss base. /499.
And there we have it! After a box like that, I'm totally thinking of going for round 2... then I watched some box breaks online, and I think I better quit while i'm ahead....
Thanks, and would love any comments you guys have!
