View Full Version : Problems with chrisxacosta

Hey guys, unfortunately this post is of a disappointing nature. On April 21, chrisxacosta posted a lot for sale which had a small resale value. Sometimes I like to help some of the guys with low iTrader ratings out because they usually get very little love.... however, I had purchased a lot from Chris a few months before and everything was fine... fast shipping, etc.
So, I sent payment paypal gift (once again, to help out... and no, I do not need to hear commentary on the "stupidity" of sending with paypal gift... I'm fully aware of the hazards of this action), and then forgot about the transaction.
Fast forward to May 4th, when I realized that I hadn't received the cards, or a tracking number. I pm'd Chris and asked about the cards. No response. I then waited until he logged on again, and then sent another PM. After seeing he logged on today with no response, I have decided to post this thread, to see if anyone else has pending deals with him, and to warn everyone of the shady occurrences. Also, chris has a twitter (incidentally, also chrisxacosta) which he has been fervently updating over the past few days.
I will post the PM's below. Feel free to comment, and I will be updating the thread as this goes along.

Hard to see the PM's but I did a deal with him also a while back if I remember and seemed fine to me. Hope it was a real low end deal, and I hope this will get him to come through for ya Jimbo.

I have not dealt with him & thank you for now I know not to. I gotta tell ya man when you assume things they turn South. For example "I like the way you do business", really? Why assume he does business good if he bitches about the cost of business (feess)?? Oh I know the fast shipping right, not cool!!! I'm sorry man but I'd confront him somehow & well I wish these PMs could help you file a claim with Paypal but I doubt they accept it.

Well, I sent him a message on Twitter which is basically my only other way of communicating with him. I don't really know why anyone would log onto a forum after they cheated someone out of cards. To be honest, if someone needs $60 dollars that badly, they can have it. From all appearances, he has a job, etc. It's so easy to find information on people these days.

This is true. That makes me the most angry with some of the people on here but I'm not naming names. Sorry to hear about your problem man and hope all ends well.

Please leave appropriate iTrader feedback as not everyone may see this thread.
You might want to edit the email addresses and your street address.

He has stated that he put the cards in the mailbox on Friday. That is still a two week delay in shipping, with no notice, but he also says he travels a lot, and that he did not receive my pms due to his travel. That is to remain unknown, but I will leave appropriate iTrader upon resolution. Thanks for looking out!

I know that I am a house husband so I am able to drop things in the mail within a matter of hours most of the time, but if I even know of a chance I may not be able to send something out the next day i always let a buyer know that I will be out of town blah blah blah. I absoulty will NEVER understand what is going through someone's mind when they don't send something for two weeks without any notification to the buyer. Unbelievable.

I always inform the person I'm trading with what day the card would be in the mail before they pay me.

Haha, seriously, I'm with you on this one. Not only that, but ESPECIALLY on a forum where you don't do a large amount of trades and people are exceptionally nervous of getting screwed over. At least on Ebay you have two lines of protection and can give detailed feedback as to which aspects of their service displeased you (DSRs)

With my current situation I am always able to ship out same day or next day and I realize that is not the case for everybody but anytime there is a potential delay in shipping I will always give a heads up.

I'm 24 and live with my parents currently, my father owns a warehouse and we make cleaners and sell surplus chemicals. The warehouse is on the same road on which I live, less than a mile away. I'm overpaid and underworked, and "boss" (dad) is very laid back. I can send pretty much whenever I want to. I'm extremely lucky for now, but I understand that some people have other priorities. Things come up for everyone, but I do expect people to alert me to their availabilities. It's not that hard to take an extra minute and send a PM.

Especially when the person has the time to log onto the site in which he is making trades and updating Twitter non stop.

Jan 6, 1987. That was the day I emerged from my mother's vagina... if you can put up with her incessant questioning for 24 years, be my guest... it's only now paying dividends :p
Sweet lady, but damn... it's a rough life.
On a side note, I still have not received the package. I'm across the country, though, so I haven't given up "hope" yet.

So, still haven't received this cards... what is a good time frame on leaving a neg. It has been almost a month since the initial transaction, and he hasn't provided me with a tracking number despite numerous requests.

That is more than enough time. Now you should focus on getting your money back.

I'm sorry guys, Chris brought to my attention that I had mistakenly typed February 21st instead of April 21 in my original post. Of course, anyone who can see the PMs can see the April 21st stamp.

I would say Neg. now. 2 to 2.5 weeks is ususally more than enough time to get a package. I would make sure to communicate in between then (which you already did) and then leave a neg which should be done now. Get ur money back brother.

I sent the member in question a pm with the link to this thread. I see he did not respond here but he did respond to my pm. I quote:
"wow this guy has issues and is one big liar. he knows i dont have internet access like the normal person. i didnt have the pm option set up where it sent me emails that i received any. an ive replied back to him before and told him what was going on and yes unfortunately i sent it without a a tracking but ive never had a issue with items not getting there. he has some nerve to say that i sold him the item on feb 21 and to this day he has not received it.
if you can see that sale was not in feb not one bit

yes it sucks that shipping a not so lite item can take foreve. i just hope the postage label didnt fall off.
seriously the fact that he is posting my info all over the board and making me seem like a thief is not cool one bit. he should lie to cover his ass and make himself look like a victim"
Do with this information what you will but I think transparency will shed some light on this subject. I know I dealt with jimssouvenirs personally and he has lived up to his end on high-end deals with great communication along the way. Good luck to you and please continue to post if you come to a resolution or not.

As you can see, the initial post was very obviously a mistake. He has been PM'd that I made a mistake by posting February, and every single piece of information I have posted since has been contrary to the OP, including the PMs, which clearly state the date of the deal. See above...

and especially above. again. I'm not sure if he has read the entire thread or not, but I think it's clear that he gleaned what information he wanted from it without choosing to respond, which if he so chooses, I would love for him to do. I'd prefer everything be in the open rather than hidden behind PMs.

As for the highlight information in Mr. Tyson's above post, I did not know any of this information until AFTER the deal was made, and until AFTER I had not received my package for two weeks. I have been as transparent as possible. I have even asked for a simple receipt that shows the cards have been shipped to SC, if a tracking number isn't available. I'll accept any evidence that Chris was at the post office on Friday, May 6, as possible proof that my package was sent.
