I think Banchero is going to be good in a CWebb style mold. But Chet has the capability of becoming a top 10 caliber player within 2-3 years. I think this boiled down to team need and risk tolerance. Orlando's definitely trending in the right direction, and OKC got the last piece they really needed to become a legit threat in the west.

this year i don't think he'll stand out offensively maybe 15 ppg, not because lack of talent but because this system is obviously built around SGA first and foremost. However, Chet will slowly integrate himself into the offense and become an important part. Chet's defensive impact we'll be clearly and fully seen this season, though.

Do not disagree. The only reason why he won't put up consistently gaudy scoring numbers is simply because of how loaded that OKC roster is. Swap him and Wemby and we may be talking about a rookie all-star nod.


I do think his game at this point is more refined and polished than Victor. He's been a better 'shooter' this point into their careers, as efficiency has been one of his strong suits.

His upside is pretty much limitless, since the defense will always be there...and his fluidity/handle at his size is uncanny. What I like most is that he's still extremely aggressive on the offensive end despite his lack of weight. He doesn't settle.

Offensively, Chet is better than Wemby. Far more polished footwork and a much, much better natural shooter...particularly from the perimeter. This is simply a game of volume vs. hyper efficiency.

I'd take Wemby on the defensive end rn though. He's a bit better at stretching out shooters all the way to the 3pt line.

I think he'll settle in as a 40%+ shooter from the arc sooner than later. I mean, he was 39% at Gonzaga, so it's not exactly a massive leap.

Don't want to see him settle from the outside though. His handles and agility make him far too valuable to not constantly apply pressure from the interior. It's a good sign he's getting to the line often.

Victor is decisively better on the defensive end though. Chet has a tendency to overplay his man at times which has lead to a lot of foul trouble early.
