Cardboard connection thinks so, Orange being exclusive to Hobby (and more limited if there aren't other SKUs). Why won't they just release Hobby boxes?

Yeah, I just preordered a bunch from Dick's.. Blowout had the suggested price as 49.50 and 32.50 seems fair tbh. Only thing that sucks is this releases like 10 days after the title match.

I think those are different ones though.

The ones at Dick's don't reference Orange parallels. The BO one (also on CC and GTS) talk about Orange-exclusive blasters. And has the same sell sheet as the BO post.

Hobby blaster versus retail blaster is a new level of dumb and confusing.

And I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see hobby go for closer to $80 than the $50 MSRP with the every other box autos and the retail blasters only have 1 or 2 autos per case and disappoint the hell out of customers.

2 blasters of this is going to be more expensive than a box of UCL Chrome. Same amount of autos, about the same amount of numbered parallels, fewer total parallels...how does this make any sense?

Yeah this is a very easy pass for me.. As my as I like collecting women soccer, this really got to be one of the dumbest and insane price points.

Parkside is also teasing a VOL 2 release, which could be out in the next few weeks, and I am sure that might be the same price as these.

I'm a "casual" women's soccer collector. Easy pass at this prices.

But you know it's bad when hardcore collectors say "No, thanks" too.

They are releasing this after the World Cup and potentially 3 weeks after the US ends their worst WC ever.

And it's not like they didn't print a lot. 500 hobby cases and almost 2000 retail cases.

It's 36 paper cards ffs with no guarantee of an auto. There's 192 cards in a UCC Hobby Box which is currently $75.

$90 is extortion.

These things should have been $19.99 for the rubbish version, and $29.99 for the 'hobby' version, and even that's probably $5 too much on each box.

Would be curious if anybody has wholesale prices as it sounds like Panini set these at $50 hobby and $30 retail MSRP and then BO nearly doubled it, likely on the strength of how well the 22/23 Donruss product has done.

If that product tanked and was currently selling for presale prices or less and top parallels of women's stars haven't gone for $$$$$ on the secondary market, I bet this product would be starting around $60 or $70 instead of $90.

There's nothing in this that justifies $49 a box. The issue is that people are expecting that price and will pay it. It's only going to get worse if people keep paying it.

It's not even Optic, or thick stock. It's Donruss paper. The inclusion of National Landmarks, which IMO is a terrible chase isn't enough to justify it.

In the US market, regular soccer blasters usually go for $25 or $30 including paper only products like Topps UEFA.

Megas go for $50 or $60 at Target and Walmart. Donruss baseball is paper only and promises an auto per and does well. Prizm or Select usually will usually only have some exclusive non #ed color so this is giving you #ed hits, inserts and a coin flip auto so MSRP is very fair IMO.

But Blowout knows that 21/22 Chrome Womens UCL and 22/23 Donruss both exceeded expectations and they don't want to leave money on the table.

If nobody bites, it'll drop. Blowout has dropped the price of Chrome Tennis by almost half since release because that was a total dud of a product.

So the question is whether there will be enough secondary market demand for these autos, rarer inserts and low #ed to support a price in the $80 to $90 range initially.

Depending on the signers checklist, it wouldn't shock me to see these prices hold for a while or even rise. Especially if they get the top USWNT signers.

But no one knows what Landmarks is gonna look like. I think it's gonna be thick stock, the fact this is Donruss doesn't mean they'll change that.

Also, assuming a print run of 150, they can put 2 per case in Hobby and 1 per case in Retail. I honestly think the only chases for this are going to be the autos and Landmarks, and that's not enough to take this to even 50 IMO

Btw the Summer Signings box that Topps releases for the UCL have a very similar format. Auto falls 1 in 2 boxes and there is 1 numbered parallel with a much shorter checklist.

Those boxes are 65 bucks now. And they are still overpriced.

In case you didn't see it, Blowout started their Pre-Order price for the "Hobby" Blaster at $60/box and it immediately sold out. They then made the $30 jump to $90/box and competitors are following suit.

If anyone here is a USWNT hardcore collector, that's the silver lining from the elimination. Affordable prices and fewer flippers.

Hopefully the prices on the new FIFA Hobby blasters drop. I can imagine, till the Olympic team comes up, a lot of the Parkside USWNT player RC cards will drop quite a bit.

Might be a good time to snatch up any next few rookies as they drop, Just not sure if there will be even that much demand in 2 years time. Smith and Rodman's should drop. Will a lot of the NWSL young stars go to Europe?

If these were like regular Donruss and provided a lot of base per box, I might be in for a case at this price since selling complete sets/team sets would help to recoup cost.

But with 35 SPs and possible collation issues, I can see a scenario of not even being able to make a single set per case, which would suck.

Just saw a hobby break. 14 autos per case along a Landmarks, Team Crest and Intergalactic.

Most boxes had the Orange parallels, another numbered base and a silver base. Others had a numbered insert and silver base, two numbered inserts or three numbered base/inserts. But they all had the orange base.

The breaks of this look brutal. Lots of duplicate autos and of course USA autos seem SP. Damaged cards and what is up with the foiling on Landmarks? I don't collect them but aren't they usually a chromium finish? They look horrible even for a low end product like Donruss.

No, not me, but i have met him over video call. Seemed decent enough! Doing the name no harm.

Still not seeing much SSP/SP stuff from this set. A Kelly /10 and /23, Toone /10 etc but not much else.

I got Earps /23 base and insert, but didn't like the price on the /5 insert due to condition and someone else snapped it.

The regular autos have the copper colored lettering on the front for the player name and country. Same as on base non-auto cards. The silver autos have silver colored lettering. Lots of base autos on ebay are mislabeled as silver autos because they have the silver foil finish. Look at the lettering.

I've enjoyed this set more than I thought I would at first. It helps that I've had some nice pulls from retail boxes, which are the better format for me because I value the numbered parallels far more than the sticker autos.

It's crazy to me that I've gotten deals for retail blasters for a little over 20 bucks a piece and haven't even find one for Hobby that's close to 2.5x of that.
