There is a person on fb marketplace who has an autograph jersey with PSA/DNA card and sticker. When you search the cert number it matches the player / jersey / auto. My question, is the verification website doesn’t provide picture of the item. What is stopping someone from putting a fake PSA/DNA sticker and card with actual authentic number on a fake jersey auto ? How do I know the jersey auto that this sticker is on and card is with is the one they actually authenticated ? Or if the card and sticker are fake with a real number with a fake jersey auto ? I’m sure by now, people have faked PSA/dna stickers and cards pretty well. So how do you know ?

PSA/DNA stickers (and other TPA's) are designed so that sticker so that they are temper proof.. meaning usually cannot be removed without it being obvious meaning half of the sticker will stay on the item and only half will come off when u try to remove.. that being said, it's not impossible to have an fake item with a PSA sticker so def study the auto and seller before buying.. and if ur dealing with higher value items and more rare autos, def proceed with more caution

There are fake PSA/DNA stickers and COA'S. You will see a lot of fake Kobe & MJ autographs with fake PSA/DNA stickers and coa's. These are all over the place.

So, then for something like an autographed jersey, they are kind of pointless ? How do you know if you have a real sticker / card or fake with real number ?

yeah, but what if someone has a fake card and fake sticker on a fake item, with real authentic numbers, how would you know

You wouldn't know. That's the risk you take. You can always send the pictures to PSA for their Quick Opinion service, if you want to feel better about the purchase. But it's still just a "quick opinion". I forget how much that costs but it's cheap.

EDIT:

It's $15 for items outside of eBay. Here's a link:
