I can't even decipher what it is, usually it's close. Maybe some kind of sword sticking up from something.
Sorry for your lose,
Vinny

My 8 year old cousin could do better drawings than this...at least I only wasted the money on 5 packs. First time buying non-sport, and might be my last...

Isn't it Wolverine?
Yeah that is Sallah, Indy's friend from Raiders' and the Grail. Oddly enough I thought it was pretty recognizable and I would not knock Waterhouse & Woodside off their perch just yet.

Looks like one of those guardian guys from Last Crusade during the boat chase.
Looks like Bluto from Popeye the Movie.

You know .. every time I leave this thread and come back to the image - there is a brief moment where I see the image on the card clearly ..

That's not a sketch, it's a message. It's obviously not English so I can't be sure, but I believe the translation is "you got screwed". :p

I'm exactly the same way! That's funny. Just the opposite of these computerized pictures that came out a few years ago where if you stared at them long enough, an actual picture would pop out. The more you stare at this, the worse it gets.

it's some kind of warrior looking toward the left. Maybe on a larger canvas hanging in an exhibit it would mean more.
Best to All,
Vinny

Well.... uh.... how 'bout those Eagles? :D
I'll probably get blasted, but I think that sketch is kinda cool looking. I knew instantly what/who it was when saw it, maybe that's the artist in me. While I tend to put a lot of detail into my own work, I can appreciate someone who can get something across with minimal work - as long as it's unique! I don't know how many of this particular image Woodall drew, so I can't really speak for this one, but when you're given the opportunity the draw pretty much ANYTHING you want of a subject, why would you want to draw the same things over and over and over again? Sometimes there are sets (like the Vintage Movie Posters) where it's part of the deal, but we were given pretty much free-reign to draw any Indy imagery we wanted on these.
I take on what I know I can handle and still put out what I feel is good work. Some artists take jobs just as jobs and do what is required of them and nothing more. But it makes you feel better when you're lucky enough to pull something like a Willie Mays auto when compared to someone like Brandon Inge. But usually the odds are you're gonna pull way more Inge's than Mays' and that's why we keep coming back. :)

You want to trade up for a black and white sketch? I honestly will! It's just gonna have to wait til after December. I'm WAY backed up on my Star Wars sketches (was sick for a few days :() and probably won't have any free time until after the holidays.

Absolutely. I admire your work, and wish that all of the artists would produce stuff similar to yours.

Cool! Let me know what you might want, and as soon as time allows I'll get on it. We can continue this in PM's.... :)
Heh, now watch, when my box comes in I'll end up pulling this same sketch. ;)

It's pretty obvious to me...it's a grasshopper standing up and wearing a dunce cap whilst playing the drums.

How about this beauty from LOTR Masterpices 2. It looks like a card the artist used to test his pencils.

If you drink 15 beers close 1 eye and squint you can maybe see it might be the Shire.

The first card to me looks to be a half. It looks like it is the left side of someone's face (their left side, right side looking at them). That is the fist thing I thought when I first seen it.

Dont complain about the artists...complain to Topps for letting the artists do such sub-par work and allowing repeated images.
These are NOT 1/1's.
