I have and use cannon r40 to scan my cards it does a good job for me. However yesterday I came upon this Fujitsu scansnap s1500m for 20 bucks at the good will. This machine is is really old and not supported by Ricoh now. But I found software to run on my Mac.

I spent about the last day playing around with settings to see how it works. I’m really amazed at how well it scans. the biggest problem I have come across is that the glass gets dirty really quickly and I have to constantly clean it so streaks don’t show up. My next test to bulk scan more cards.

Chrome and refractors come out looking really sharp. Better than my r40. Here are some samples I tested. Highly recommended.
