My name is Mike Graham and I am a Middle School teacher in NW Ohio. Another teacher and I have started a program to get kids more involved in collecting cards. This is an after school program where we have brought in parts of our collections for kids to look at and have been trying to give away as many cards as possible to keep them involved in the hobby. Last school year we gave away probably 20,000+ cards to as many as 30 different students. The biggest issue with a program like this is keeping cost down as the MS kids don't have much to spend and us teachers don't really have the funds to continually buy cards for the program. I have reached out to my contacts through card shows, ebay and even Facebook groups and we have been blessed by so many people sending us a few cards up to 25,000+ cards at one time (we had to drive about 3 hours to get the 25,000+ cards but well worth it!)
We are not looking for stars, rookies, color, etc. We are looking for the cards a lot of guys would "throw away". *Of course we would take the good stuff but we are not picky at all - the boys are excited to get even base cards for their binders!*
