You have to post ads advertising that youre looking to buy card collections. Youll get dozens of people contacting you wanting to sell their junk. Maybe 1 out of 20 leads will be worthwhile.

Thanks mc1 I'll try that. Just most stuff out there is junk wax or definitely not worth the asking price. Trying to find collections where people don't know what they have. With phones now days the 1/20 chance is probably accurate.

You are more likely to get ripped off on Facebook/Craiglist instead of ripping someone else off. :)!

I don't remember the user name of the guy here. But someone bought a Dirk or basketball card collection and found a 1998-99 Flair Showcase Dirk Nowitzki 1 of 1 rookie.

So look on eBay for some great lots, you never know what you find.

I wish I could give you the username of that guy and you could private message him, but I don't remember this user.

Ebay searches ... I can't tell you the searches or tips I look for, cause then I might be competing against your for them. Lol. Card shows also have deals - key is to look for those for lack of a better word "amateur" dealers, the one who don't even look up comps. Or better yet, those Football collectors that just so happen to have a bunch of basketball & they don't price them accurately. I've scored tons of $30, $40, $50 cards from $1-$5 each at shows just cause they were afterthoughts in "value boxes" and not researched. Just today, I found an Andrie Kirilenko 2003 Auto in a $2 Auto bin, thinking he was a "common".

I wonder what happened with the Trey Lance card PSA switched on him. He complained about the NDA they wanted to get his money and made videos. He never followed up about it, which probably means PSA gave him enough money and he did sign the NDA.

Why I only buy online and never attend card shows. I would much rather stroll around Walmart for an hour instead of seeing YouTube "celebrities" and people screaming "Let's GO!" COMC, eBay, and buying from forums is enough for me.
