So far it's trending as not likely, and doubtful any other Panini NFL releases will have them. So we may not get pro uni autos of them until Topps/Fanatics gets the rights I guess. Gives those Instant RPS first look autos a boost for sure.

"These boxes carry a suggested retail price of $200."

Priced a little high, but what the hay, in for a box or two.

So shouldn’t prices be lower for these boxes?

Panini doesn't think so! IR-Anthony Richardson is gonna carry this product to the moon.

Having said that, I've always been partial to Phoenix as my Finest fill-in and I could be convinced to get a box or two.

If Stroud and Young sigs aren't in the remaining releases, I feel some inserts will get more of a pop than in normal years (not necessarily Phoenix).

Base design not looking overly different to previous years. But I do have a soft spot for Phoenix, I think it's an underrated release.

I used to poke fun at Phoenix. Most of it is crap but the base/parallels I do like from some years

Consistently a nice looking set. Always love the look of the base

The hobby has entered its BUC phase. Phoenix isn’t bad, but the hype is definitely over.

I like Phoenix. I also feeling like Panini is really shining it in this year. Last two 2023 Panini NFL releases checklists have been hard passes for me.

We'll see.

Yeah it's real hot. Preorder was $275 for months. Now it jumps up to $350 for literally no reason. They figured well we aren't selling it at $275 so might as well charge $350. Gotta make sure as few buyers as possible can get a reasonable price on Phoenix FOTL.

These morons actually raised the prices on all football this week. I'd like to see proof they sell a single box at their listed prices. 1 single box of their couple hundred cases worth.

Impeccable $1300
Immaculate $1250
Spectra $1000
Rookies & Stars $375
Zenith $300

For anyone curious here is the market give or take for 2022 on these products right now.

2022 Impeccable $800
2022 Immaculate $750
2022 Spectra $800
2022 Rookies & Stars $275
2022 Zenith $180

Im sure Blowout's doors are getting beat down right now to buy all the 2023, with no autographs of 3 of the big 4, at prices way above where 2022 is selling at.

We are actually going to hit the point where the odds of coming out ahead on a new football hobby box is 1-3%. At least recent Topps products you have some chance. Thanks to the pieces of garbage you have virtually no chance with new Panini football hobby.

Yeah Im sure at $275 or less per box. Which was not too bad. Probably the only pro uniform football product for 2023 the pieces of garbage priced under 1.5 times MSRP. At $350 it's bad just like all the products they control the artificially manipulated price on.

kluke84

I do like how the base design has become recognizable, not much deviation like other lower-mid sets do.

I really, really like Phoenix and would love to get a box, maybe two. I don't even need to have a realistic ROI chance. I like collecting Phoenix cards. But I do need the first number in the price to be lower than a 3. It can literally be $299.99 and my dumb ass is in. If it actually releases at $350, however, I can't do it.

Blowout was at $375 presell for Hobby yesterday before pulling their listings. There is no way the powers let this get anywhere near the floor.

Blowout has the H2 version up to $325 now. It was $150 before the dutch auction. It is somehow currently more expensive than the 2021 Phoenix H2 box which had an auto that could theoretically be Lawrence or Fields.

I’ve loved phoenix ever since Prizm got out of hand. It’s staid lower in peice(relative of course with the boom). I’ve been doing a case or 2 each year. Had mine locked in when I was able to get it for roughly $265 a box.

What it’s at now is absolutely absurd.

Still can’t wait to open this with my dad this weekend. Been looking forward to this for a while.

Phoenix at least has a following. Wait for a couple of weeks when Rookies and Stars drops. I'm not sure those would be worth $50 a box.

Going to go have fun and open with my dad this evening after work and dinner. As long as it isn’t too late I’ll post the results in the box break section. Hoping for some big hits!!

Was it Gil Brandt? Those are labeled as Donruss but that set is sprinkled in across several product lines and has been for a few years.

Contenders in Absolute I believe is the preview autos. I think numbered /24(for the 2024 year, last year was /23)

I don’t think they are just throwingrandom cards in…yet, but at some point I wouldn’t put it past them lol

Has anyone noticed the letters SP on the back of the cards?

I figured Panini was now highlighting Short Print cards, but that would be redundant on numbers cards.

Have noticed it on the base cards of Davante Adams and Brock Purdy as well.

It doesn't mean short print it doesn't seem. I am forgetting what exactly the "S" stands at the moment, but it is an alternate photo card. They seem to have snuck in two base cards for a lot of guys without acknowledging it in the base card count.

Ran into a bunch of value packs and hangers at WM (in addition to a few Absolute blasters and ton of Donruss blasters).

Picked up two value packs and two hangers. Out of the hanger, pulled a Jahmyr Gibbs purple prizm out of 99! Out of the value pack, red/white/blue Anthony Richardson. Also in the packs had a green prizm AR prizm break, Prizmatic Bryce Young, Prizmatic Mahommes, and a handfull of other cards that I can't remember off the top of my head. Definitely came out ahead on this opening.

I see Panini is selling an exclusive Fire Burst set that includes one 1/1 Celestial parallel, En Fuego, Phonician, Archetype, or Genies in each factory set. Fire Burst set includes 100 veterans, 50 base "SPs", and 100 rookies.

Starting at $1500, ends at $300 :coffee:

I remember buying the 2020 Fire Burst factory set for something like $80ish dollars from Fanatics. A "low" print run insert or single 1/1 plus a CJ Stroud rookie and a Mahomes base really adds $200-$1400 worth of value.

Nice move by Panini in increasing the base set by 50 cards and trying to sneak it out as something to be excited for, as if they don't know what "SP" usually means in the hobby.

A guaranteed 1/1 and it got pretty close to the floor. Oh how times have changed in such a short time. I don't think people are falling for the artificial glut of "1/1's" Panini is churning out.

It's partially the stigma of having released 2 previous mass-produced Fire Burst sets that nobody cared about and went below cost. A limited version would have to prove itself before there is interest at higher prices.

jplarson

According to Beckett (https://www.beckett.com/news/2023-panini-phoenix-football-cards/), Fire Bursts are #/340. Looks like Celestial parallels are only found in this format, both for base and the four previously mentioned inserts.

It's partially the stigma of having released 2 previous mass-produced Fire Burst sets that nobody cared about and went below cost. A limited version would have to prove itself before there is interest at higher prices.

Now Panini further dilutes what a Fire Burst means. pre-2020, they were 1 per inner case or 2 per case. Then they went factory set and printed to the moon. Now they're #/340, though I'm not sure if they have the serial number printed on them or not.
