Some of the no nut noviembre BO deals seem somewhat decent. Everyone on here complains about the ridonkulous price gauging on hobby, but there've been a few semi-enticing cases on the cheap if your goal is to scratch the itch.

the $99 21/22 s2 hockey tin case is a decent deal, 4-5 of the young guns will nearly pay for the entire case in PSA 10, and that series graded really well.

I was wanting to pick up a 20 box retail blaster case of 2021 Skybox Metal Champions, because I thought BO would put them on their Black Friday deals. They did under Wave 4, however they raised the price by $50 rather than lowering the price. You can get it from BO via ebay for $35 cheaper than they have it on their site for!
I emailed them and messaged them on X, but they have yet to update the price, so I am guessing that this was their plan all along. I wonder how many other products did they increase the price or keep the same & pretend that it's a super Black Friday sale price?

This is not turning around and the market for this stuff from the last few years is still way too much with everything going on in the card market right now. It's a bit concerning how many people are just very recently noticing that many single cards are down 60-90% over the last 2 years. Scary, actually. It would seem that sealed product is a massive lagging indicator, lol.

Half tempted at the Rittenhouse X-Files boxes, but I don't have much experience with that company's releases to know if it's worthwhile or not.

I collect Rittenhouse Star Trek and the QC is fantastic! Like blows Topps & Panini out of the water. Great collation, usually nice card stock and all on-card autos.

Whether or not there's 'value' will really depend on the auto checklist for each release and what you pull and if you intrinsically like the show.

Rittenhouse's website/external checklists will usually designate tiers for autos and general print runs, which can run to as little as 10-20 per the rarest inscriptions.

For Star Trek cases, usually you'll hit a single auto from the rarest tier (which can include duals), maybe 2. And sketch cards which can hold nice value are usually in every other case.

Sometimes your rare auto will be one of the chase actors for the set but sometimes not so much, depending on how watered down the checklist is. Maybe you get David Duchovny and cover a good chunk of the case cost. But he might also not even be included. And there can be huge differences in different releases from the same series (for example, the Dr. Who franchise is notorious for this).

Lastly, because collation is really good and lots of fans will have already bought some boxes on their own, demand for complete base sets is usually very low but I don’t know how the X-Files market works.

I would say, if you're not already a decently big fan of X-Files, there are more fun packs to open, even if you can get decent ROI after selling everything.

I haven’t been impressed by 95% of the NBA/MLB/NFL deals but there have been some good deals in more niche areas IMO.

I’ve bought and ripped 4 cases of WNBA Revolution and 1 case of WWE Chrome Match Attax (before they bumped it back to $700) because I collect these sports and they were a blast to open at that price and I might even have a shot at making my money back if I grind everything out slowly over the next year or two.

Also grabbed a case of 21 Chrome NPB baseball to probably hold since that looked like a really good deal.

I’ll be curious if some current deals that aren’t moving get slashed more as we get to actual Black Friday as well as what else has been saved so far. I imagine I won’t be done buying yet this promo period.

I think I saw but skipped over it since I wasn't specifically familiar with the Asia variation for this set (but have loved some of the other basketball Asia/Tmall editions).

Good to hear that this one is a good deal and I'll keep an eye on it if the price drops again since I'm still pretty high on this draft class in comparison to discounted wax prices. I imagine BO warehouse are absolutely overflowing with 2020-2022 basketball.

Are you sure you were talking about chronicles? I don't remember chronicles tmall having numbered card guarantees in any year. Just 6 card packs of fancy prizms but not 2 numbered a box

I'll have to start keeping an eye out again on wechat. Tmall was so good at inception, then became just the watered down unnumbered prizms, but now it's making a comeback again in quality without the hype.

2020-21 chronicles was clearly a bad product. I just checked and it's still available on panini's tmall store right now for 200RMB a box which is about US$28

I figure basketball 2020 through now is going to get discounted even more at some point. Tmall is full of that stuff still for basically every basketball brand and panini can't let it sit there forever on their site.

I love a good Chrome rip and might consider these at $400 a case because I think too many of the auto subjects have good to elite role player as their ceiling and flaming out of the NBA after their rookie contract ends as their floor.

That's not to say that these players won't ever hold value or have a hot spell but unless somebody totally breaks out, I think those periods could be very brief, if they come at all.

So far in this young NBA season, the biggest surprise is Cason Wallace. He plays like a pro already. A comp that I heard on the Thinking Basketball podcast was Hersey Hawkins and I can totally see him having a Hersey Hawkins type of career. And Derek Lively might run the Tyson Chandler playbook to a long career. I was OK-ish on Miller leading up to draft and he seems to be meeting that expectation so far.

Then again, at $500/case (or less), you can't really expect too much upside.

Biggest issue with 21-22 products is the class is pretty weaksauce.

This isn’t basketball, but they boxes of 2020 bowman 1st edition at the price when they were released, $480 discounted to $360 or something like that, which is easily $100 more than what they’re selling for now on eBay.

I think the 17-18 Optic Premium sets at $999 isn't bad...base set /249, and one RC auto per box /25. 1 in 10 shot at a Tatum, and there are nice consolation autos in Mitchell/Fox/Markkanen that can be pulled..

It's a no brainer deal IMO. Another site had 22-23 for 1600 or so and it sold out. 22-23 is much better but definitively not even twice as good.

It's a decently fun rip for $50/box, the resale sucks though because there are just way too many autos and "hits" being auctioned every day. Also limit 2 of the cases per household means they won't sell out with a PR ~1200 cases

Flux 22-23 is pretty bad even at discounted prices, lackluster release.

Mosaic Asia also is pretty inferior to even the other Asia options here imo. Very hard to get a Gold /10 or Auto in comparison.

Revolution Asia I did 4 Boxes a while ago and got multiple numbered cards in each box including a Curry Gold Base /10 and KD Gold Insert /10.

Spectra Asia is interesting...the floor boxes are super rough but if you pull an RPA or Solar Eclipse they are real cool.

BTW my brother (Luni on here) have been building towards a very Asia/Tmall Christmas...good place to show the stack of stuff we've bought over past few months.

Total Rundown is: 10x Hoops Asia, 20x Obsidian Asia, 12x Revolution Asia, 4x Spectra Asia, 6x Chronicles Asia, 2x Flux FOTL (bought Flux from Panini before realizing how meh they are but oh well)

The Spectra singles in general seem to sell better than the Mosaic or Revolution, so shouldn't take too much to recoup my cost on a box. I'll find out when I start ripping.

No problem...Obsidian Tmall at $70/box was the steal of the post covid years. That stuff is pretty loaded, I hope the break delivers.

Nah, I picked two cases at 899.77 before they went on sale on BF at 599.77. Only thing that sucked from BO is that some releases that were on their initial waves went lower on BF. Oh well.

Not a big deal since I flipped one and would probably flip/rip the other two. Even at 900, that's a good deal to rip.

Ah, got it. Maybe reach out to BO support to see if they'll price-adjust the earlier wave price to the BF price? At least it's worth a shot, worst they can do is say no. Even if they don't fully adjust, maybe they'll partially refund you and/or give you some credit too.

Got my cases of 2021 Chronicles Asia last night and wanted to share the results from my first case. Overall a really fun product, the “base” cards are a little too noisy for my liking but I always love Chronicles as a cheap rip for the variety and value.

Here’s a picture of all my #’d and autos. No big hits, but golds of Sengun and Kuminga and 3 #’d each of Curry and Kuminga were nice as a Warriors fan. 10 autos in 20 boxes, the middle one is /5 RPA, and only decent name was Reaves RJA.

Is it normal not to get any kinds of color in a case or 2020-21 Chronicles Tmall?
Broke my case and didnt see any colors at all. Got a Terrence Davis Apprentice auto and 250pts but nothing else of note.

Very happy I got the 100 2023 Leaf National Packs (1/1 proof per pack) for $499 deal because it didn't last long ... they're back to the normal price of $2699 on the website :eek: . Cheapest online I see is $16 per. Best deal I saw when I looked on Blowout's site, and very low risk at $5 per to open or for re-sale down the road.
