Would someone brighter than me help rank brands in terms of premiumness, specifically for autos?
Specifically, how do we rank these brands:
luminaries
museum collection
diamond icons
clearly authentic
dynasty
five star
tier one
gilded collection
triple threads
pristine
sterling
chrome black
gilded collection
Panini flawless
Panini immaculate
Panini national treasures

They are essentially all the same minus the panini brands.
If anything, perhaps dynasty and sterling stand out. But not really.

Definitive and Dynasty are the two that come to mind.
Need to get more signers though as it's the same players over and over seemingly, especially from a retired perspective.

As bluestreak stated, I'd put Definitive and Dynasty toward the top of the rankings. I imagine this will come down to personal preference. I don't consider Tier One to be a premium brand, but a different person might have it at the top of their list.

Personally, I’m a fan of Dynasty and Gilded. I specifically don’t like Clearly Authentic and all the Panini crap.

The bottom line is topps has never had one definitive best premium product - they are all amalgamations of the same thing over and over again.
Topps has never done their high end right, as bowman has killed their ability to showcase the rookie card, as they have been featured in other sports.

Dynasty is FINALLY getting the attention is has long deserved.

You can take off all those panini brands. I would rank them lower than topps flagship.

Everything I talk about I like as a fun, PC collection type cards and certainly not as investments and I'd never pay high end prices for, so that may go against what you're looking for. Just cool looking cards I like to get as singles on the cheap, if possible.
I dig on certain sets of Pristine, been really enamored with the 2002 set and the most recent sets look nice.
The Clearly Authentic cards are fun. Again, just on the cheap as PCs. They are different than all the other excessive patch/auto products.
The only thing I like about Panini are the color blast cards which I think are inserts to some product, other than that, woof.

Definitive & Dynasty are the only two premium brands to me. Gilded is close.
I think most of the brands listed are part of a large glut of middle tier. They could cut these brands and I personally wouldn't miss them.
luminaries
museum collection
diamond icons
five star
tier one
triple threads
pristine
sterling
Topps has too many.
Here's the order for Panini:
Flawless
NT
Immaculate
As much the no logos thing sucks, Panini has some very nice looking cards from those 3 brands. Love the clean white look

Dynasty at the top, followed by everything else. I don't see Definitive as a top tier product, the card designs aren't nearly as premium as Dynasty. Gilded is just a flagship parallel like sapphire imo

As someone mentioned before it is the same retired players names over and over in the high end. Ripken Jr. and Ryan have signed for years. But truthfully, there are very few players that don't sign who belong in high end products. Right now the two biggest that come to mind are Barry Bonds and George Brett.

Which is a good point, I don't even know what makes something "high-end", an auto using a different pen, a patch that isn't just a napkin?

Mookie Betts for current players.
Edit to add - and this is my main struggle with paying high end for these patch autos ... there are already tons on the market. Imagine in 5 - 10 - 20 years, there are going to be so many of these floating around.
It's why I gladly collect the good looking, albeit inexpensive/non-investment cards. But to each their own.

The price....the cards all look approximately the same....

Let Pete Rose sign for Topps!
With Gilded twice on your original list, I think we know where your subconscious was going ;)
Gilded is the only one on that list I find worth purchasing. You don’t include it, but I think Transcendent is #2 after Gilded.
Rest can be ignored (with a small asterisk for another you didn’t include: Tribute. And for that specifically it is their game used line where they include actual historic pieces for contemporary players)

Dynasty for me, then Gilded, then everything else. Definitive are nice too..I have a few of those.
The Dynasty cards really are great. I collect some basketball/football, so the format appeals to me (RPA-type cards). I've kept several over the years. People squawk about how many image variations of each player there are, but, if there are, say, 10 images, with a /10, /5, /1 of each image, there are really only 160 cards of the player (unless they are in the vertical set, then add 6 total more)...there's not a "ton" of inventory of the player per year.
The Gilded are also awesome in hand, player/team collectors should really check these out, the 2022 Inaugural edition will see singles start to dry up and vanish into personal collections soon. There really aren't a ton of them to go around (Base /99, Diamonds/50, then /25 /10 /5 /1--they added a /75 parallel this year). I'm speaking of the "base cards/autos", not necessarily the framed autos, although the HOF plaque cards from 2022 might maintain a following, as several of the players have never had any HOF plaque autos by Topps. Singles are very affordable relative to box price (which is true for most products these days I suppose). Stunning cards in hand.
