Long gone are the days of finding a steal at Goodwill sports cards or otherwise, now they'll be on the Goodwill auction site lol

Some unsuspecting upper middle class grandmother is about to give her grandson a bar mitzvah to remember.

Maybe I should scoop up the psa 8 MJ UNC card from 89 the guy is trying to sell locally for more than a Fleer rc. He said since MJ is in a UNC jersey its a pre-rookie and worth a lot.

Maybe we should dismiss all MJ fans as outliers. This makes Kobe suddenly look like a bargain.

Can't believe you haven't pulled the trigger on that PRE-RC :D

Yeah Wow. Maybe start auction at $30 and hope someone bites. Goodwill, great, but I still don't want some unsuspecting person to plunk down 3 bills on that, again unless ofcourse you were basically making a donation anyway.

I saw an entire wax box of the product for $40 on a site, maybe somebody should buy it for all the pre-rookies

I have a bunch of '91 Fleer MJ's... looks like I'll get more listing on goodwill than ebay....

If goodwill is smart they just show the first card and make up mystery packs. People will bid based on the fact that they don't think thrift shop employees have the Internet.

Man, they're a charity for poor people, not a consignor

you haven't seen the shift in their business model over the past year or two. They now place higher end items online for bidding.

In rare defence of Bbases I think he means it's kind of scummy to take advantage of a charity because you'll "make more than ebay" lol not sure if public can even make listings but Goodwill itself doing it goes back to Goodwill like someone mentioned in here. If it goes over comps at least it's going to a good cause, using them as a consigner even if they took a cut that goes to charity because you know your net will be higher than Ebay is kinda scummy. Could also hurt them in the long run as if that starts happening the floodgates will open and it just becomes another ebay and everyone tries to underbid each other and even novices see low recent ending sales and will bid less hurting the charity

Yeah I could see someone who wanted to donate to goodwill rationalizing spending more to support the charity.
