Will he be successful? Where might he coach? Does he even see it as an option? Does he start off as a QB coach or go straight to head coach? Imagine Tom Brady, your new head coach for the Michigan Wolverines or the New England Patriots.

Positive (multiple champions. MVP, GOAT) and negative (cheater, deflate gate, spy gate, etc) comments are welcomed.

I do not foresee Brady ever coaching.

Could be wrong, but that's my take.

Athletes who are transcendent usually have a difficult time coaching.

Money..

This guy has so much of it, coaching would be a low value use of his time compared to what other options he has out there.

I think he'll stick to studio broadcastings, commercials, and dating 20-something year old models.

Brady in the locker room as coach - “umm…hey. We’re all having avocado for breakfast from now on, okay?”

Not gonna work.

Coaching is difficult.

Going on TV to give color analysis where you don't get push back is much easier in comparison.

I'll bet Greg Olsen continues being a better color analyst that Tom Brady.

You're right. It's a completely different skill set.

If people would realize this, it would add some much needed context to another contentious debate that regularly grabs sports headlines.

An Owner role suits him better.

I think he's working on his brand(s) and media presence.

I bet he would bring back suits to the sideline

Both of these. Brady's knowledge of the game would transition nicely to being color analyst. I just don't think he has the personality for it. I could be surprised, but he seems like he would be an absolute bore on a broadcast.

He probably has bigger and better things to do, his presence alone generates money.

To be fair (regarding his personality), Brady had a few moments where he had funny commercials. I think there is a side of Brady that most of us have not seen. In New England, he was very quiet. When he went to Tampa, he started to do things he would usually not do under the public eye such as being more of an extrovert. At this point, I think it's worth giving him a shot calling the games. Of course, his knowledge will be great to hear. However, you are right that he might be boring.

I think Brady is an amazing QB, great leader of men, etc.

He's also kind of a snoozer as a personality. I don't need him in the booth.

But compared to, say, a Peyton Manning? It's not close:

Commercials are scripted and they can do over bad takes. Live commentating he doesn't get a do-over. It's not to say he couldn't improve. I was anti-Aikman for a long time but he has improved over the years and he's now, dare I say it, decent.

If Brady puts in the time and energy into commentating that he did quarterbacking he could be really good. I don't see it happening.

But compared to, say, a Peyton Manning? It's not close:

If Brady found a shtick like the Mannings have I could see it being really successful. Like a Brady/Belichick Odd Couple where they constantly take credit for stuff? I'd tune in for that.

I thought Brady was the coach during his entire playing career and Belichick was just a figure head

Coaches on average get 4-5 hours of sleep. I believe I read that in Jon Gruden's football book.

That doesn't fit Tom's lifestyle.

No he will not. All time players do not translate to great coaches. Gretzky was a recent example of this. Jordan too if you replace coach with owner (GM influence).

Who is the best former star player who was also a star coach? Ditka?

Plus Brady doesn't need the grind. Making millions on endorsements each year.

Honestly though, if Romo and Olsen can get away with it (they are not exactly exciting personalities either) then I'm sure Brady can.

Glanced at the title and opened it because I was intrigued. Apparently it wasn't Tom Brady as a couch. Less interested now.

He has enough ego to think he can do anything.

I’m just waiting for Tom and Taytay on the 2028 Presidential ballot.

I would catch his weekly Westwood One spots for the radio broadcast of SNF or MNF when I was driving. It was awful. That’s why I was so shocked when he got a TV deal. He has no natural charisma at all, and honestly I think he’s going to crash and burn in the studio.

I would want a coach who can tee off a golf ball with deadly accuracy.
