Figured I'd ask this question here because why not :). Been setting up at shows, and am rethinking my table layout and what would attract the most customers. Interesting question I'm pondering. Note I have a showcase, plus $1 box too ... But for the $5 and $10 & up cards (each marked), what layout would get you MORE LIKELY TO STOP at the table & pick up a stack of cards? Note sport breakdown is roughly 50% basketball, 30% Football, 15% baseball, 5% other.
A - Separated by Sport > Price ... Meaning I have "Basketball" 3-4 Row Box: Within Box, I have $5 cards and behind them $10 & up ... Each Sport has separate box
B - Separated by Price > Sport ... Meaning I have "$5" 3-4 Row Box: Within Box, I have cards separated by Sport ... $10 & up is separate Box
C - Doesn't Matter

I prefer sport then price since I only collect football and don’t have to shift around or wait on other boxes to open up. As long as there is some separation by sport, you are good. I usually just leave it is is unsorted multi sport.

Either are fine with me, since I'll buy any sport if the price is right. I prefer both of these options over the people that put color-coded stickers on every card with different prices all mixed together.
But most important is your actual pricing. If I'm getting great deals I'm willing to spend a lot of time digging through dusty dirty unorganized boxes and piles of random cards. If you're overpricing everything, it doesn't matter how well it's organized or how pretty it looks, I'll quickly move on to the next table.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm pretty organized. I do mix my "$10 & up" cards in one box, but other than that it's all by price.
I understand the 2nd point. One thing happening lately is people not even picking up a stack to go through the cards. Once they do, most stay since I'm priced decent. So thinking more on how to just get people to stop ... I've been setting up at shows in South Jersey & North Jersey - maybe just odd coincidence, but my experience people in North Jersey near New York more likely to peruse through my $1, $2, $5 boxes. Foot traffic at shows near Philly is decent but SO MANY people just peek at showcases and don't bother to pick up stacks of cards. Just interesting to me. My sales are ok, but always room for improvement - Having a VERY TOUGH time moving $1, or $2 cards. Sometimes I go a whole show w/ literally just 2 or 3 people even picking up a stack to go through those cards.
