Definitely an exciting time to buy singles! Why would I pay $125+ for a case of Phillies when I'll be able to get an auto + multiple color of Burkholder/Nori/Demartini for the same price in another week?

What, you dont want to spend $500 on a box that has $20 in cards in it, 99% of whom youve never heard of and will be selling insurance in 3 years?

It's a better real-life class than hobby good class. Your top pick profiles as a Jason Kipnis with a good shot at being a 280 hitter with 20 HRs. Rainer and Griffin slot in somewhere around where Colson Montgomery and Austin Hendrick were viewed when drafted; that's about the extent of exciting high school bats.

Caglianone has a chance to be a great two way guy, but he has so far to go on the pitching command side, I don't think there's a hobby runway for it. Big risk he's Brendan McKay. I'm sure some names will emerge, as they always do, but the first round was filled with fairly capped upside college bats. A lot of the first round bats will be productive pieces without having hobby value.

It's just objectively not a good class if you're seeking a $500 chrome autograph down the road because the class was too short on standout tools. Maybe Caglianone's raw power is the only component that could be a carrying card in the hobby.

Caglianone abosolutely can do it with just his bat. From the neck down he looks exactly like Joey Gallo. His swing isn't quite as smooth, but he's already shown a contact ability that Gallo couldn't even dream of. The power is obviusly very real and I like the fact that he was still playing hard in the AFL (another similarity with Gallo).

The problem is price. This should be obvious to everyone but for some reason isn't. His last three /499 autos are $475, $550, and $650. That's outrageous. Might as well buy Gunnar, Vlad, or Chourio (who is a year younger and already has an edge of 21 HR). Or grab same aged, slightly bigger James Wood for half the price. Caglainone will come down, but even at half he's way too high.

It was just simply insane that a super jumbo box should start at $1000 - $200/auto. Nobody wins except for breakers and fanatics.

I hope we have finally reached a tipping point, and as prices crash, bowman can become bowman again.

People finally realizing that a mandatory $500 base chrome best guy auto is not feasible for every single release, hopefully the market jesters are finally turning the corner and keeping their money in their wallets.

I was at the D&A popup in NYC yesterday as they were swapping prices on boxes. $200 drop in super jumbo list price! Still another $500 to go for my liking.

Prices sadly just won’t ever become reasonable until breakers take a stand and tell fanatics prices are too high. Also decrease print run but we know neither will happen. Get rid of the hta garbage too. Buy a team in a break at stupid prices…get hitless because no chrome.

That’s just the start. I’ll also say I hate fanatics live and great breakers moving there. Tax and shipping on top of prices already?!?! That’s just a small gripe of mine.

Yes these Bowman Draft breaks are not filling. You can see the backlash in pricing for Draft as well. Blowout is now below what Topps had them for on Preorder.

I finally redeemed mine a week or so ago and see it expires this month. Wanted to buy a sealed box, but it seems it's just breaks. I could not figure out how to buy into a break. If I have time, I'll try again soon. :rolleyes:

I am saying once again the Fanatics breaking experience is just not good. I like what Real Breaks and Best Card Breaks have gone to. They have their own app and don't add tax and shipping on top of the price of the spot. It's what you see when you claim a spot as in $45 is $45.

Ebay breaking is still in a strange realm of it's own. You will get tax and shipping there added on the price you bid/won. I also see spots go for some head scratching prices so either overly rich spenders or credit card junkies addicted beyond what I am. Really like Hobby Legends but their crowd really get bids to some very high points then next one will see go for a nice low point to only see same go for 3 times what last went for.

Facebook is also another wierd breaker area. Flying Eagle is one that does a lot but prices typically are all over the place and higher than should be past half a year.

Now for the current state of the hobby. Real Breaks said shooting for 200 cases of draft. Not sure they are even at 75. They already went to formats of mixers of 2 to 3 box breaks which shows the end of full case breaks usually. Pyp took a while to fill and needed big cuts with big names left until end. All in all cost of wax just needs to come down a large amount.

this release is not doing well on Fanatics Live. auctioned slots going cheap, breaks not filling, breakers sitting around with thirty viewers and twenty slots open. 2024 Bowman Draft truly has very little going for it. HTA is a SKU for no one. the gamblers have little to chase. the hobbyists are priced out. I'm following singles for one guy and it seems to me that no one is really ripping this because there aren't a lot of listings.

I’m a lunatic who opens cases of this myself. Cases and cases with no Jac C (royals fan here). Then have a box with two Jac autos and a yellow bazana.

There also seems to be even more of it than last year which is saying something. Opened a super jumbo case and lowest auto out of the whole case was a blue.

Usually breakers delight has good color but not this year.

Ageee. Have rarely seen Jac C cards in my several boxes, but plenty of Christian Moore’s, Bazzana’s, Mintgomery’s…. Last year was much better.
