I know that a technical grade is PSA/SGC 1 put the card otherwise is in great shape, centered and good eye appeal. Its a pre-war 1935 Chicle Football that a 6 would price out at $3,800 and a 5 at $2,200. Its being offered at $2,800 which is still too steep for me but it raised the question - what is the impact on value for a vintage card with a pinhole on resale.

Significant. Which makes it a great deal for collectors who like eye appeal. As you said, a pinhole, no matter how small, is always and forever going to be a PSA 1. But this would be at the "top end" of a PSA 1, if there is such a thing. Certainly some collectors would prefer this over a very beat up PSA 2, but you would likely never see prices higher than that.

Some people love pinhole cards because they can get a nice looking card for a great price. People may pay strong 2 prices, but if the are charging 5 plus prices, it will just sit there.

The “market is the market” and your answer is where my head. Thank you!

A pinhole automatically makes the grade Poor (typically with great eye appeal); there will be an "eye appeal premium" over your standard "poor" card but its not going to be super significant (like comparable to G-VG), so lots of impact on potential resale value
