Will this always be true?

The USWNT (https://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+world+cups+has+uswnt+won&oq=how+many+world+cups+has+uswnt&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyBggBEEUYOTIICAIQABgWGB4yCAgDEAAYFhgeMggIBBAAGBYYHjIICAUQABgWGB4yCAgGEAAYFhgeMggIBxAAGBYYHjIICAgQABgWGB4yDQgJEAAYhgMYgAQYigXSAQkyNjQzOWowajeoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)has now won nine world championships: five Olympics and four FIFA Women's World Cups (1991, 1999, 2015, 2019). The rest of the world combined has won eight major championships (three Olympics, five World Cups).

Wow!

How about the fellas...

Has the U.S. ever won a knockout match at the World Cup? The U.S. men have never won the World Cup, and have not advanced beyond the quarterfinals in over 90 years. Really productive post!

Yes the USMNT has won World Cup knockout games.

The world is catching up on the women’s side, however. It will be much tougher for them to maintain the historical dominance.

The funding and facilities the US Womens game received for years dwarfed the rest of the world.

For the longest time it was like pitching peak Barcelona against the Dog & Duck pub team. You only have to look at the absurd stats for 'golden age' USWNT players.. 184 goals for Wambach, nearly 351 caps for Kristine Kelly. Madness.

Women's football in England only went pro in 2019, eighteen years after the US. Even before that the women's game stateside had access to world class facilities at colleges and universities. In England for example, it wasn't that long ago the game was still played on public green spaces and the 'facilities' were the local pub.
