Marty now would be better, and he’s been dead nearly 4 years

Add ten years and 50 pounds of flab and this would be a career position coach who was hired to be a head coach which was quite common in the semi pro era of the NFL.
I remember when "Schotty" was viewed as a hot shot youngster now he's viewed as a retread...;)

In other words nobody of relevance wanted anything to do with that dumpster fire. My guess is Dallas doesn't sniff a deep playoff run until Jones dies and they are bought by a group who will spend the money to make it happen.
This #@#@#@#@ show is going to be fun to watch.

Jerry has clearly lost it. He is now in the Dan Snyder/Woody Johnson catagory

Should just go full fan interactive, at this point. Controller at every seat. Fans get to choose from 8 plays, whichever is leading at the 15 second mark of the play clock is what's getting run. This team is absolutely nothing more than a complete waste of HOF level talent.

It's an..... underwhelming selection, to say the least.

Watch Jerry will add Witten to the staff and after 3 years Brian S is out and Witten named HC.

Cowboys should make the first draft pick for their new coach an easy one- DRAFT ASHTON JEANTY! They have not had a true bell cow, franchise RB since Emmitt. That will take so much pressure off Dak and Lamb, and help grind opposing defenses down, and open up play action. That being said, there is a lot of talk of Jeanty going to to Denver, and I am here for that, so I hope Jerry Jones does a Jerry Jones thing and doesn't draft Jeanty

You could have said that about a dozen years ago. Jerry is the single biggest reason the Cowboys haven't won since the mid-90s.

It started when he parted ways with Jimmy Johnson. They could have had 1-2 more titles, all Jones had to do was sit back and watch. Instead, he needed to be top dog and feel like HE was the reason for their success.

After Jerry kicks the bucket will there be any chance that his kids say hey we get $10 billion for the team lets cash out?

I doubt it
It’s still the greatest thing a super rich person can own since there are a limited number. It’s still the biggest dong measuring contest out there. It’s why the articles about Dan Snyder are so awesome since he’s that worst
They won’t need the money
I wouldn’t sell. I don’t know how many kids there are though

I don't think so, but I DO think they hire a GM & Coach and say "take over guys, win us some titles however you have to do it, we won't get in your way"

If you watch the show Landman, Jerry was a guest on the show playing himself, and he explained why he bought the team, and why he chooses to keep being involved. He likes running it with his sons and being part of the day to day. I don't think he will ever just sit back and be a spectator.

But for your information: Ezekiel Elliott was a bell cow back for us for us for at least four years. Now he won't ever have an Emmitt legacy, but he was an amazing back. The Cowboys need help on both sides of the ball. The draft will not be a fix-all. Jerry, the source of all this team's problems, will have to come up with a creative way to create cap space. Look at the Eagles, 49ers, and Lions; what do they have in common? They all made free agency and trading almost as important as drafting. Jerry doesn't understand that you can't win it all by just focusing on the draft and putting seemingly all the onice on Dak Prescott. Jerry is the only mediocre GM in sports history to keep his job for nearly four decades.

According to sources Eberflus is on a short list for DC for the Cowboys, things are starting to take shape now.
If Schotty has time clock management issues don't expect any help from the DC....https://nfltraderumors.co/cowboys-dc-mike-zimmer-likely-to-retire-team-could-hire-matt-eberflus/

After seeing the incredibly heavy influence coaching and their play calling had on each team in the playoffs this season, it's good to know there's zero hope going into the next (insert length of contract here) years.
Maybe if Aubrey starts squatting about 650 lbs., he has a chance at extending his field goal range to 75 yards to give them a shot at points next season.
