I'm somewhat familiar with Topps double printing various superfractors and what their usual course of action is when notified. I discovered a year ago I had one such case and notified Topps. They immediately responded and asked for links and pictures to back this up. I replied with the ebay listing, which is graded, as well as pictures of the one I have in hand along with my ebay purchase invoice. They responded they'd look into it and let me know. It might of been a day when I noticed the listing was removed from ebay and Topps never responded to me again. I just assumed Topps made that person an offer and removed it from the population.

Fast forward to today and the same card is available again on ebay once again. I would like to get this taken care of as I feel there should only be ONE sueprfractor of each card in existence. I'm hesitant to contact Topps again but I imagine I will.

Thought I'd ask for advice here as I respect the opinions here. This is a PC player and don't really care about the "value" but do feel there should only be ONE 1/1.

Thoughts, rants, advice? Thank you in advance.

If you want one of them removed from existence, the only way to guarantee it is to contact Topps and negotiate with them to get yours turned in (or to buy the other one yourself). They can't force the other owner to give theirs up if the other owner doesn't want to. And unless theirs was proven to be stolen, they have just as much right to own it as you do.

I would start by following up with Topps, as you already had discussed the issue.

If it's not a true duplicate and has evidence of being a backdoored copy (fake/missing serial), depending on the grading company, you/topps might be able to get the item decertified and potentially removed from the market.

You could buy the other listing and then light the card on fire. Then it would be 1/1 again.

Yes, this is my understanding and what I was willing to do. Never expected them to remove the other one. Just odd they ceased communication. I'll circle back around to them.

Thank you and yes this is what I ultimately want for the collecting community. Just one of them removed, doesn't matter to me which one.

The plot twist is the other one is the true 1/1 and yours is the bastard copy.

That's awfully altruistic of you.

If it were me, I'd be keeping it in my collection. Lots of cards mistakenly exist. Nothing wrong with collecting them. So what if this is 2/2? If you like the card, keep it.

If it's the Dylan Carlson it's only going to cost you a thousand dollars to make it go away.

This burn on the other hand is going to linger.
